Tatra angle is a nice change of tack from the usual Old Beetle vs New Beetle stories. Being a fan of old Eastern European stuff, I naturally spammed the curse word out of this when you posted it at the weekend Thanks, I really appreciate that. The viewing stats are ace considering it's a bit obscure. Have you watched "happy journey"? It's lovely. If I had the budget I would have retraced the route of that to tell the story, I love the Czech Republic and Tatra cars are fascinating. I'm after a 603 to add to the fleet (but they're bloody expensive nowadays). Thanks again for your support and nice feedback.

I hope RRers will enjoy this, a little video talking about the relationship between Porsche's early Beetle and Ludwinka's Tatra. I wrote and presented it (and have since lost the rubbish 'tache). Feedback always welcome. link

I may be going - depending if I can take the fire engine. We're used as the pilot's taxi essentially, so get the VIP tickets. I'll have to check - I have two friends (all three of us are pilots) who are flying a Spit and Tiger Moth down too, so may catch a ride in the Moth if not. We'll see. Tim Nice! Maybe you know a Tiger Moth owning pilot friend of mine, Will F?

I wonder if there'll be any other RRers there? I'll be there from Friday-Sunday (landing back from a trip to the States at silly AM on the Friday to be there). The free 'over the road' bit is well worth a look if you can't get a ticket. I have three spare tickets this year if anyone wants 'em - face value, drop me a line. It's the highlight of my year, looking forwrad to it, although the Vulcan looks to be cancelled, sadly

This is intriguing, especially when a few dailies ago my car of choice was a '91 944 Turbo running KWv3s amongst other things. Christ I begrudgingly let that go! What has been done to your 968? I do fancy one albeit in Tip form for some strange reason unless I happened to come across a bargainous CS... Thanks. It's a Sport (CS with 'leccy windows and tiny rear seats), a rare thing, I've had it a few years. It's standard apart from 2 extra speakers. They're not cheap now but I bought at the right time.

This is mine (when I'm not on my vintage pushbike). It's not very practical, no aircon, rock hard ride, rattles and a pig to keep clean. I love it.

No surprise to see the MK2 Cav's with smashed rear windows, so many were nicked back in the day.
Some nice stuff rotting there, the Subaru pickup is a fave.

I've stuck up for Flux but have now had enough. My renewal is through, up again on last year even though I've never had a claim in 20+ years of driving, clean licence, etc etc... I know the game. Call and complain, they match last year's price. We do this every year. But I've been on hold for 5 minutes listening to an advert and I've had enough. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I can't be arsed with this. Hi TDK, Sorry about this - You can always drop me a DM if you like? I'm more than happy to check this out and us call you rather than you having to hold. Kind regards Dan. Time is money, Dan. I've gone with Bridle who also insure my Porsche. No time on hold, UK call centre, price c.20% lower than Adrian Flux quoted me. While I appreciate that car insurance is a competitive business remember that your customer's time is also their money. I think I had been with you for about 10 years.

Apologies for the lack of a response guys, I updated my notification settings but unfortunately they hadn't saved so I had no notification of the PM or thread replies. I've updated them again and they've saved this time. Fingers crossed. Again just to reiterate what I've previously said - I'm obviously not happy to see that a number of you have had poor experiences with ourselves and I'm more than happy to investigate individual cases if any of you want to send me a PM like mercdan68 has. We can't discuss policies/cases on an open forum for data protection/safety reasons although I certainly won't defend us if we've done wrong. We're here to be on hand to arrange quotations, answer insurance questions, assist with renewals, change of vehicles and also of course to help with those who experience issues with ourselves. If we've done wrong, we will hold our hands up and try to resolve things amicably. As I've said, anyone who has an issue please do just PM me some details and I'll arrange for it to be investigated. Kind regards, Dan. Looking good Timasorus My wife and I used my Lancia as our wedding car last year After looking at various options of classics we could hire for the day, in the end we decided that the Fulvia was just as special as any of them. It did us proud and actually worked flawlessly for the day, and for the drive to and from our short honeymoon in the lake district. That is, without doubt, the prettiest wedding car I've ever seen.

I've been with Flux for years. I like the fact they have a UK call centre and the prices are OK, but I've never had to claim and I seem to read lots of stories of bad experiences with them.
Anyway, perhaps a Moderator could kill this thread, it's full of bad karma. It started as an advertorial kind of post anyway.

One more pic for luck. Christ! That takes me back. I owned something very very similar back when I was a yoof. Bloody awful thing to drive though, looking back with a pair of grown-up eyeballs.

If you like 'em, then that's all that matters. I can't see any going up in value significantly for a decade or two, but who knows.
