how about a pic of what you are doing? remember you will need to get in there to grind the welds afterwards I'll get one when I'm home. Basically it's low down at the front of the rear wheel, just in from the lip of the arch where it meets the sill/outer quarter panel. Due to the way the arch curves and the the arch lip I wouldn't be able to get a cutting disc in the space, I could of I held it flat to grind the welds down but not at the right angle to cut. Plus the patch needed is only a couple of inches across so a grinder would probably cut more than I wanted to.

Just wondered what you guys reccomend for cutting out metal in tight spaces?
Basically I need to weld a small patch on a rear inner wheel arch where it meets the sill. There's no way I'd get even a small grinder in there without causing damage to other areas and I don't think a dremmel type tool would be up to the job.

That previous mot reminds me of a Ka I had, purchased with six months mot remaining and only advisory being one tyre close to legal limit.
On closer inspection it had two complelty bald tyres, a hole in one sill big enough to get your fist through and the bottom of the opposite sill wasn't even attached to the car for the full length! It must of been flapping in the wind, and your telling me all that happened in six months? Lol unless it had been sitting at the bottom of the sea.

The "frogeye" scorpio's are popular with banger racers but the mk3's are too weak so not really used.
It does amaze me how easy racers find these cars to race though. I honestly can't remember the last time I spotted a mk3 anywhere let alone on the road yet 200 turn up in one day to race.

The problem with trade insurance now is a lot of companies are asking for proof of trading to stop people using it for this kind of thing or a cheap way of driving high performance cars.
I do think there is a gap in the market for people like us that just like to drive a lot of different cars but not out to make a profit from it.

Very odd one that. I mean an e-type, a Range Rover, a twin axle car trailer and the van all add up to a fair few grand. Not something I'd just want to leave at the side of the road for months.

Does anyone know the company that can replicate the original dealer number plates? Seen it mentioned on here recently but can't find it now.

Was that the silver one? First one I've seen for sale in ages. My mates dad had a black petrol volcane around 2001, gave us a lift in it somewhere once and scared the hell out of us felt so quick. Very underrated car.

At some point in its life everything is just worthless rusty old tat, especially if theres a good onset of rot and the mechanicals are stuffed or have been robbed out already.. Agreed, you probably wouldn't think twice about ripping bits off a focus RS in a breakers at the min but give it another 15/20 years and it would be sacrilege.

You seam to attract some very odd people around your way.
The stange mercedes buyer, the gypsies with the ranger and the mistang badge theives. I find all three of those stories very odd and honestly can't figure out what goes through some people's minds to think that's ok.

Same as the one in this link www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-AP2513B-13-Drawer-Topchest-Rollcab/dp/B000WZA9UOBought a year or so ago as a factory second due to a couple of dents. Never been used as a tool box, bit dusty from storage but it's just been sat in the garage. Got offered a better halfords setup just after I bought it so had that instead. Great starter chest. £80

The Alfa 16V 1.9 JTD would probably fit on the same engine mounts, and it has a bit more power, but you're limited by the standard clutch/gearbox. Might as well stick to the same 1.9 and chip it up to about 140bhp! I beleive it's the same engine, just a few mods to make up the extra bhp, same ast the 150bhp vectra and astra. I know they have a different inlet manifold and possibly ecu map.
