Whilst I was waiting for DVLA to register the car I set about getting rid of the Sealed beam units. Searched around and the best deal I could find was on eBay from Vintage Warehouse 65. Full halogen conversion kit for £60. I offered £55 and they took it so worth doing a best offer if you fancy some! Randomly the car already came with the passenger side dipped beam converted to H4 but not the drivers haha Lots of grot on the headlight rings After some Autosol! Better! Much better. Also they are actually really good at night! Next issue was the rear suspension after taking it for a test drive and hearing all sorts of twang noises from the rear suspension I jacked it up to find insanely short cut springs! 6" long these were! The car looked great that low but was undriveable! I had a mate come over with some old suspension from an Accord Type R and I borrowed his springs and chucked them in for the MOT to get it by but the ride height was a bit too high. So after some research and I think it was in a thread here someone put a link up to loads of different Mk1 Ford Escort Front springs that fit the rear of a Celica in all different lengths and spring rates! Amazing! Plus they were only £60! Bargain! Here's the link if anyone else wanted to look:http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Motorsport-Tools-UK__W0QQ_sidZ87353699?_nkw=Escort+front+springs&submit= I used 4.75" OD x 10" Long x 160lbs to get the height I wanted. A complete guessitmate but hey it worked out! Height with the Type R rear springs New Springs Mega cut, Accord Type R and The Escort springs Here's the end result with the Escort Front Springs in the Rear.

Got it home and washed all the disgusting filthy dust off of it from it being sat for 8 weeks on a boat! One with Mookie's 7th Gen Tsport Chucked some new tyres on the Watanabe Wheels as the crappy Nexen tyres it came on were all cracked and sucked bad, Advan A048R. Sexy as hell tyres. I doubt they'll last long though haha Then on Saturday 2nd of May it went for it's MOT and PASSED! Very happy! The condition underneath is amazing! Just black shiny paint underneath. I will be enquiring about a rust proofing treatment very soon as I don't want the UK weather to destroy it!

Hello there chaps! I've finally bought some membership after some persuasion haha Thought I'd share you guys some of my past. Started out with an Austin Mini, I'd always wanted a Mini as my first car and this thing taught me mechanics due to it breaking down every bloody weekend! After the mini, I started building Honda's for the next 8 years and I've been really lucky to get 4 magazine features so far, one of my child hood dreams ticked off! Had a DC2 that I tarted up. Then sold the Integra to live in Australia for a year then came home and bought a Del Sol that I did the whole stance thing with  Then I really wanted something retro so found a minty 1987 Gen 2 Prelude and gave it some Japanese flavour. Then I missed having a sensible ride height and wanted to do more track work so I built an EG Civic to Abuse. Then I sold that, saved up a good wedge and set about moving to New Zealand. I travelled Japan and Australia and then realised the girl I'd met just before going travelling was a winner so I came back to the UK and we are spending the next few years saving up to move together to NZ. I'd purchased the Celica whilst in Australia on Christmas day 2014. I'd always wanted another retro J car after my Prelude, so I spent a few weeks looking around on auction sites and for sale adverts. Found this example... 1976 GT2000 Liftback with 62000 kms on the clock. I had an inspection done on the car to make sure it was as tasty as it looked. Here's some images that were on the forsale advert. After the car was bought and the agent had the car transported to their compound they took some better images of it. The front coilovers had been raised here to protect the front spoiler when loading onto the boat. Well it finally Arrived on the 27th of April so we went straight down to Southampton docks to grab the car! You can see how ecstatic I am! Very pleased with it! Even cooler than the pictures had showed! Here's a video of us finding the car and picking it up from the docks with the girlfriend filming lol

Thanks man! Actually I sorted it! What I had done was tighten the rear axle nut too tight and it put too much pressure on the tapered bearings and BOOM curse word got serious. Lesson learnt though haha!

On the ECP website part number: 102700148 for rear brake shoes also fit a Nissan Laurel or a Vanette - of those two the Vanette was quite popular but the Laurel was less often seen than the Bluebird. Part number 628700500 for a rear wheel bearing fits the Bluebird and the Stanza. So there you go... working on that basis there are 3 possible sources for parts. I'd probably start with the Vanette as it was a popular small van and you still see them on the roads today. They may even cross-reference with some Bedford parts. Lovely stuff! Thanks for taking the time to search that! I 'Should' have a second hand unit arriving in the next day or two so I'll see how I get on.

That's a rare sight, can't honesty say i've seen that before Your best bet is either an owners club or TBH ovalchat, that's something that will most likely survive racing and be salable after What's Ovalchat? I've tried searching for an owners club and there's nothing. Err brake pads look damn low there too hhaha Surely micra stubs will be similar if not same try cross referencing brake pads etc to see if they list them for say bluebird + micra etc The drum did hit them in a few places as the drum and wheel came off together. The stubs aren't bolt in/out they are pressed in and micra's are bolt in. And after looking at your pics and way the bearing rollers have twisted would say that bearing fuses itself to the stub and broke Hahaha did a good job there anyway Yea I did say this at the top of the thread haha Wasn't it making a bit of noise prior to letting go? As has been said try ovalchat I've heard noisy wheel bearings before and they are scary! This didn't make a sound!

Well I bought a cheap 1986 Bluebird and the bloody wheel FELL OFF! It overtook me at 60mph and it bounced down the road... the whole thing was pretty hilarious to be honest. I found out what the issue was.. The Wheel bearing got so hot that it melted and sheared the axle stub. LOL So you can see my dismay! I can't find one ANYWHERE though and all the ones being broken on eBay are sold or just won't bloody reply. So I thought I'd ask you chaps what kind of solution you would suggest. I've bought a new wheel bearing I just need to find the rear hub assembly as the axle stub isn't a bolt in/out part and I can't even buy an axle stub separately. It's a T12 with rear drum brakes and it's the drivers side that's gone. Thanks in advance!

Looking pretty damn well, congrats on the mag feature, I know how hard it to get these things in, I was honestly unsure of it when I saw you painted it 2 tone on your ludegeneration thread, but it looks spot on, anything else planned for it? Thanks man! Umm if I'm honest I want to build an EG track / fast road car so this will be up for sale!
