Eaton names are pretty handy, the 45 from 'M45' means it displaces 45ci (about 740cc) per revolution.
With a top end of 13krpm, quick maths suggests a max flow rate of about 9.5k litres per minute, or 160 litres per second.
*this information may be inaccurate, 160 litres / sec sounds a lot!

The op asked for 17psi, but I think 17k is referring to rpm. The m45 tops out at about 13krpm, though I don't know how that relates to output pressure on a 2.5l diesel.

Make sure you're sitting down though, there is a whole world of wheel porn up for grabs. You weren't kidding, I've never seen such an awesome collection of wheels!

Who publishes the roadcraft book? I was going to seeing I could read it online as the old versions I saw on ebay were HMSO publications.

If you just want a cheap car, look on Gumtree. There will be much more choice and be much more local.
I think it's right that the 'budget motoring' on Retro Rides has rules and boundaries, in general, the rules and moderation are the best I've found on an online car forum. Wherever the boundaries are drawn, someone will moan.

My mate who is just finishing his degree in motorsport engineering at Coventry seems to have done his course out of Carrol Smith books. Flicking through them, I think they're great. They're pretty much all called 'xxxx to win', eg tune to win or engineer to win. IIRC, this one is the most 'average joe' friendly, without being boring.

I'm looking for a similar truck atm, I know what you mean about the prices. Even trucks without MOTs can go for over a grand. Good luck with yours though, I'll be keeping an eye on it

My NA MX-5 had the indicator stalk on the left. Surely that was designed to be right hand drive, being Japanese? Or were they cynically compromising their own design to appease the US market...? Odd, mine's on the right. Makes roundabouts easier

I assume they won't be calling it "B"? It's just a jacked up MPV with an MG badge right?
It's not an MG in any sense that we can understand, but how controversial was it to badge up an Austin Maestro or Metro rather than design a replacement for the B?

You can get a decent mx5 on coilies for a grand. Else I'd say e36 of some persuasion.
A 944 would be great, but how much do brake pads/discs and tyres cost? You can get 4 toyos and set of discs and pads for an mx5 for about 300 quid.

Looking about for something to use while I tidy up the MX5. Also I'm getting tired of taking my passenger seat out when I've got a gig. Such things as these are welcome: Love these USDM front ends! Supercabs welcome. I'd even consider one of these if it's not too rusty (yes I know it's not 2WD...) It'd be a few weeks before I could sort anything, I just can't wait. I'm sure you understand

I doubt Haynes will show you, but there's loads of decent videos on YouTube for tuning 306 diesels and pump fiddling.

Tbf, I think they wash planes cos you'd probably be a bit worried getting on a filthy looking plane. You'd be better off going for a dump before setting off.

Was the previous owner likely to have fiddled with it to make it go faster? Depending on the pump, you can adjust the fuelling which can make a small difference to the power with the result of clouds of unburned fuel out the back.

E30 Beemers were 4x100, lots of 90's wheels available in their size with appropriate RWD offsets.

29.9mpg is still curse word in my opinion for a modern 1.4 engine. I agree, are you sure there's not something wrong with it? What van is it?
