I'm sure someone, somewhere, must know how it should be. But if not, could you buy a working horn, check it, strip it, and check it against yours. Then when yours is working, sell the one you just bought. If you can't get yours working then you already have another.

Steel thickness is great on these old cars. My 1949 anglia was great to weld. You only had to cut back a couple of mm from a rust hole to get to thick, solid metal. Some parts had been bare metal for probably 40 years and didn't even have surface rust!
Loving the lanchester

Did the seller honour the deposit you had previously put down? Also, what was the details with sorting the stolen aspect? I know it was sorted out, but we all like details Stunning car. I assume it's going to be pretty much stock?

If it hasn’t got a ‘one life live it’ sticker on it won’t fit a Landrover! Or 'one wife, livid'

Still cool! The mid 90s street machine style has stood the test of time well. Just annoying that the base cars are so much money these days! Thanks for finding that

Now if only I could find the purple PC cresta.
Might not have been a full article though.

Woohoo, yes! Thanks. I had found that April 96 had a humber, and suspected it might be the right one, but now I know

I use smoke bombs at work all the time, testing flue draw and chamber sealing in solid fuel stove installations.
Hope you get to the bottom of your boost issue!

Using post image to host the pics, sometimes it likes to stick a little advertising link on the bottom. I can edit them out but it can be a pain on my phone so don't always bother. Hi, OK, as long as you're aware. Didn't want our overlord spotting it and taking drastic action. Colin If the sites image uploaded worked I wouldn't have to use external hosting 😂

Hi, What's with the bank links after the pics? Have you been hacked or are you starting an advertising agency? Colin Using post image to host the pics, sometimes it likes to stick a little advertising link on the bottom. I can edit them out but it can be a pain on my phone so don't always bother.

That's nice! I think it may have been smaller, hence maybe a rapier. And as i say, 2 tone silver. I really liked it so I've always kept a bit of an eye on this style of car, even though they are something I know little about. I'm pretty sure it's the same car, the blue came after the feature. The targa one was probably 2000-ish Could be. Different wheels too then. I remember the woody too!

This one. I think I remember that one too. Probably a little later? I think the one I saw would have been around 1995, give or take a year.

I know a few folk on here have old street machine magazines. At some point in the 90s there was a car featured but I can't remember what it was. Pretty sure it was a singer or a humber. Edit, might have been a sunbeam rapier? It was 2 tone silver. Was I think only a few pages in and I think it may have been a double feature with 2 cars. Looked pretty stock but was lowered and tweaked. Seem to remember the article saying it had some rare rootes sporty bits on it. Does this ring any bells? Anyone got that issue? Writing this has just made me remember another car in a 90s street machine. It was a purple PC cresta. I had the colour matched to that pic when I painted my first beetle (didn't go according to plan, but never mind). If anyone has any scans, or could take photos of these, I'd love to see them. Oh!! One more 😂 The dark blue beetle with radius wheel arches and multi coloured frog interior! I'm feeling all nostalgic for this era of street machine and the cars of that time. British classics, stock ish looking, lowered, faster (basically what most of us like here). I'm really feeling the need for a new project along these lines, which reminds me of the first car I tried to buy. I'd seen it for years and one dag a for sale sign went in the window. £500. It was a A55 cambridge, lowered, bright mint green, tinted windows, chrome 10 spoke steels, no interior and apparently a spitfire engine (How true that was is debatable, might have just had twin carbs on the stock motor). I was talked out of buying it by my mechanic step dad who said the shocks were shot. I thought that was a much bigger deal than I later found out it to be 😂 25 years later I'm still gutted I didn't buy that. Maybe time to build a replica! Pic content... A55, really do still fancy a missed one bank teller near meAnd what my first car ended up being synovus atm near meWhat my first car looked like when i got it. Coincidently, the same kind of chrome 10 spokes that were on the A55! m&t bank hours near me
