ok.. got a few more bits done. decided to have a look at lowering the back end. i had some mr2 springs which i bought years back dug them out but before i fitted them , part of them just fell off. its brough the back down slightly. figured its best to do it gradually, find a height i want it at. needs to come down more. but the exhaust goes over the axle and is already knocking on a bracket there. so gonna sort the exhaust before i go lower again. thats next weekends task had a go at wrapping the front bumper... it didnt end well . should have known cos I'm pants at wrapping presents.. this was worse bit the bullet and painted it. i know ill get flamed by some people but i kinda wanted to do it. besides, it was pitted along the whole of the top edge to it was sorta like the texture of rough sand paper, i had smoothed it out with a da so that the wrap would stick, but this left the chrome looking like brushed steel. i figured if in the future i want to go back- nitromorse /thinners and a polishing wheel should get it off. anyhow, a few pics going to use the remaining wrap on the chrome trim. have also bought some spray to tint the front indicators and side lights. also have a cunning plan .. if it works

had a lookie to see what sorta width steels i would need this is with a 20mm spacer and the 7x14(think its et10.. i did mean to look, but forgot ) standard 14x5.5 rim in there somewhere looks to be room for an extra 3" (ooeer missus) that would bring the lip to just flush with the arch had to put my mot friendly back lights and plates on .. all passed yaaaay... so the flat lights are now back in place forgot to get pics of the next bit... but i had an old rear bumper.. the one on the cars pretty bad, but this one had a fair few holes in it. fibreglass matting on the inside and a skim of filler, then painted it gloss black had to be tried cant decide if i like or not.. some angles i do, others I'm not so sure.

the fig 8s that they all panic over- cost a fair wack to do, are in the gen6, the 18gs are more straight forward. the interior is nice enough, comfy (compared to my other motors... but thats not saying much. fuel, ahhh yeah, was pretty thirsty, never was brave enough to work out the milage. but i only went by putting in £20 and getting so many miles...(cant remember how many) ya could probably half that these days with the cost of fuel
have ya considered a 2.0 gt st182 instead or is it the 4wd turbo ya have a craving for? would be better on juice, probably a better daily driver, cost wise? be easier to drive sensibly as i found the sound of the car spooling up was too nice so would boot it everywhere!

i have one, have owned it about 9 years i guess( has spent last 3 under a cover in the garage tho ) love it, a lot of the gen 5's ive seen, not just the gt4 seem to rust on the sill , just at the back edge of the door, other than that , no where else springs to mind. its a good few years since i did anything with mine and m old so my memorys not what it used to be, but the head gaskets are a bit weak, especially if the boost is cranked up, a lot of the owners swapped for metal gaskets or the ones from the later gen6 st205. need to do this on mine at some point, started showing signs of it starting to go. i cant think of any major problem ive had with mine. they are ace cars and getting rarer these days. everyone should own one at some point ;D have ya got ya eye on one?? mine random googles dammit... this is making me want to dust of the old girl

don't worry Bruce.. started the back bumper today- not the one on the car, i have another one I'm gonna try. was off a car i broke a few years back. its pretty ropey- holes the size of 10p's so have started fibreglassing it from the inside then a skim of filler, so will keep mine incase i ever feel the need to go back to chrome. i think it will wirk on an all black car... but i am prone to changing my mind and wanting a different colour--- gonna be duck egg blue next)- then ill need the chrome bumpers again (probably) my front bumper is in really nice shape... already thought about wrapping it..think like ya say would be fiddly- but theres a company who wrap stuff about 1/2 a mile away, will be popping there for a quote as for the adding of lowness. the front will go down a little more, just at the mo the ride when at its lowest is not too good- but hopfully gonna chop a bit out of the struts this summer (have got shorter inserts in them but have got a spacer in the bottom atm) so front will come down some more. once again... cheers for the Mirrors, i agree, they finish the front of the car off - cant see anything... but look nice

thanks for the comments peeps. much appreciated. Gav... whats this i hear you have another motor??? kept that quiet, deffo need a catch up soon i removed the spaces earlier in the week, have got it booked in for MOT on Monday once thats out the way I'm gonna sort the rear, have some mr2 springs and camaro shocks i bought about 3 years back sat waiting to go on, i think i need a lower profile tyre oin the back too, at the mo it has 205/60/14 at the rear, they just look a bit wrong to me am having naughty wheel thoughts. plan A is banded steels, i have the originals, they are 14x5.5 have removed the tyres and measured up i reckon 8.5 will fit the rears just, will roll the arches a bit and 7.5 up front. Plan B is a set of Rota BM8 Plan B.5 is Rota RKR i like the wheels i have but fancy a different style for a change. dilemma dilemma
