I love these old family photos, they have more to them in my mind than the stuff we find on the internet. My gran had loads of old photos from her life, but sadly when she died my idiot uncle took everything from inside her house and bunrned it in the garden! Not just the photos, but the furniture and everything, never did work out why, but I sure do wish i'd got to the photos first! My uncle who currently still lives at home with his mum (and he's coming on 55) will no doubt do something silly along the same lines, we've tried as a collective family to get together what we can of the most important memories so it doesn't get lost or sold. Lets put it this way, nan used to own her home. Now she is forced to rent because of the man baby racking up debt goodness knows how with nothing to show for it. It is sad that they don't realise what they are doing and quite how much it means to the rest of us.

I've never really minded what miles a car has, current forester had 144,000 when I got it in Feb this year, 158,000 now. Volvo S70 before it had 152,000 when I got rid, don't recall even looking at what the mileage was when I bought it, it just sounded good and drove well. We'll just have to see where the forester ends up.

I honestly don't know why the image is showing that way around, it's saved the correct way. Ahh well.

Here's a photo of one of my great uncles on his motorbike, Grandad tells me he used to be quite the adventurer despite poor eyesight and would ride where ever he fancied. I couldn't say the exact date but grandad thinks this is pre WW2 due to the "middle-aged-ness" about him. He went on to be in the artillery using the super 25 pounder. Here is my other nan and grandad on his Lambretta much later, I always laugh at my nans expression, she still has that look about her even today and she's nearly 90. (I don't have a scanner please bare with, grandad scanned the first one, come to think of it, he's quite tech savvy for his age)

Perhaps someone has found a gap in the market and needs to create and organise such a thing Elitism creates competition and a drive to be better which creates in itself innovation, so perhaps it's not a bad thing that we're segregated after all.

Nicest thing I’ve driven was my mums 2011 Nissan Cube. Super comfy seats, great driving position with massive windows, quiet and not speed inducing. Just overall a nice place to be.

The modern daily after driving the landrover. The two could not be more different! Oh man I know those feels, I used to drive a 2007 golf GTD with power everything as my business car and wow, back to back, getting into the triumph toledo felt a million years away, soooo different, no power steering, hard pedalled all drum brakes, 4 gears x y z. Although I've had a lot of cars, I can honestly say I've never had or driven one thats hard to use, agricultural yes. Saying that, my MGF was very choosy about what tyres it had on it, I can't remember now what brand it was I had or changed to but with some it would be a properly scary experience driving at 60 down a back road, following all the marks in the road and squirreling all over the place, the others really nice as you'd expect from a mid-engined car.

There are many things that turn me off, most have been mentioned already but yet I still buy the odd wreck/mess. The biggest one for me is the engine is "stage <insert number>"
My history with this is they usually don't have a clue what they've bought themselves and don't know whats in the car or they think it sounds cool, it means absolutely nothing. I'd rather know if the intercooler was a mishimoto or if its ebay spec than be told stage 3.

I used to buy cars on their last MOT and run them till it ran out, of them all the only ones I know are still on the road are my Volvo s70, MGF and golf mk2 number 3 (the one before my current one, the rest I sent on their way or the person after me cut them up

I am pretty unhappy with what I've achieved over the last year with this car, not having had the best of luck with the dailies and other things really but hey that's life eh, the '07 polo we had dropped a valve, queue buying an 03 forester, I spent saved money servicing it to ensure it's longevity as best I could now that I do circa 350 miles a week, sure I could have gotten a smaller more economical car but I don't hate myself and we had one of those already, I spend a lot of time in it so I want to enjoy it. Next doors fence fell over pulling our fence with it, our boiler started to leak...3 times... Finally started to get some money back in the jar and the other half booked us a holiday without asking on short notice, technically I shouldn't complain about a holiday but I'd rather the turbo for the same price so I don't have ££££ tied up in an unusable car. I genuinely had a frown on my face when she told me about the holiday and a slight tantrum too, if it happens again I can tell you it WILL be cancelled, I haven't driven this car for coming on two years now, all the motorbike fettling stopped a while back too. To get some mojo back I pushed it out of the garage on Saturday and gave it a good scrub and polish, put half of the interior back in (dashboard and front seats) before taking the other half of the interior out for no real reason other than to clean under the carpet and look for rust really. My brother took me to a small hill climbing event outside of Salisbury for my birthday which kind of inspired me to do something similar with the golf. Strip out the rear, cage it x y z but if the first paragraph has given you any idea, I can't afford all that so the rear seats will probably just end up back in there. Whilst I was cleaning up, a friend of next doors popped round their house but seemed to be more interested in what I was doing... he was driving this : I spied some track/turbo mods. Other than that I've been twiddling my thumbs and working.

As a golf mk2 owner, most people at shows wouldn't even come and look at the car if the bonnet was shut, they're just too common and some might say conservative design so nothing to look at anyway. I don't care what people say about my work or that x isn't original bla bla, I just care when they start leaning on it and touching it. It's a car show come to see what people want to show.

I'm not bothered by regular cars being electric... I'm bothered by electric race cars. Most of the reason I go to races is the sound. With more reliable cars and no sound the races become... calculated and in that essence boring. Of course I understand that old race cars and heritage stuff will still happen, it's just forefront motorsport wont be the same. Take F1 now compared to v12 or v10 era, then compare them to formula e. Isle of Man tt with no race bikes screaming at 20,000rpm... not the same. Imagine going to a VLN race at the Nurburgring and not being able to hear German and Italian brutes battling it out everywhere you go. Sad times are ahead

The days of 'bargain motors' are dead too. I remember buying old Fords for £50 and ten year old E30's for £150. Now, to buy an equivalent ten year old E90, it's £3000+. The whole market has changed, the cheap cars at the back of the used car lot simply don't exist now. #generalisation For me, this kind of vehicle is found on the facebook market. You'll never find premium motors for a steal but definitely loads of cheap cars of the 10 - 15 year old range and late 90's stuff.

Easter eggs. Lots of different cars have them, these are corsa, viper, volvo, jeep. ... Really cool design gadgets! I just don´t get the one above?! Is that a certain race circuit? It is indeed, apparently if you have a viper, there are loads of different circuits inside. That's Laguna Seca.

It is a bit weird, mine seems to be working fine, all my pictures and even my sig are through photo bucket. Maybe they've changed the amount of free photos you're allowed or introduced a third party limit. I think they're on their way out, photobucket still to this day hasn't created a decent Ipad app. Just continues to get worse and worse. I'll be switching everything over to my Flikr soon.

My old 90's loon... this photo makes it look so much better than it was. £150 dog of a thing, did me for my first fancy free years motoring though.
