Currently Vauxhall Viva GT - (yes I will get at it I promise) - 4606 made, 65 or so left according to the register, came to Canada one year (1970) maybe 200 came? I am aware of 5 in the country (one recently went to New Zealand)
Currently 1930 Austin 7 Boat tail tourer. about 1500 made - of which about 53 remain.
Back in the day my first car was a 1971 Citroen DS19 safari - comparatively rare especially in Canada

2. Can you rig it up so that for now it takes a baby car seat? Then you can just clip it in and go - more like one of those strollers with the seat that attaches. That was my initial thought, but our car seat is wider than the fibreglass body I've got. I'm not cutting that up! I could look around for a secondhand car seat that's smaller I suppose, it wouldn't be used in a car, only in this, so safety wouldn't be a concern. I wonder though if initially you could clip it on top of the coclpit and not in the cockpit. So it could hang over the sides - admittedly not as cool as sitting in but for now safer and easier. And still cool enough

Cool project! Two thoughts.
1 if you use leds in the headlights you can get temporary brightness anytime. Here they have battery operated in the dollar stores. - stick it in and you are good to go

That should be fun! (when it's completed). That is my exact problem now. It has stopped being fun pretty much from the second the engine came to life. I will grunt my through thi$ but going into the s$hop is no longer $omething that I look forward to doing. But that is where the Beer fridge is! If you need a day with another set of hands to get things moving let me know. This is my (relatively) quiet season

I also want to paint some sponsorship on the wings if I do it. Wouldn't a royal warrant cover it? Maybe Princess Anne's name in Blade font? Or Windsor Racing? Royal pain?

Shouldn't the front and rear A's in Anglia be the same height?

Wondering about making the right stroke on the A vertical. then a little a-symmetry makes it interesting (also looks a little more like a rocket or some such shape) Yeah that could be interesting to try. It would require a slightly odd A though because simply making it vertical as it stands now, it would end up being less than half the width of the other letters so it would leap out as really odd. But it could be done be introducing a horizontal bar on the A instead of a sharp apex, and that might have moree of a nod to the original. Just did a quick bodge up in Powerpoint to see how it might look... I doubt I'll be having any more dabbles on the Ginetta logo now. I've scratched the slightly OCD itch of seeing the badly kerned logo and satisfying myself it could be sorted out. I might have a go at Blackpop's lettering next. Thanks - the last of the three is more of what I was imagining. cheers!

So frustrating to hear this saga so close to the finish line! Does your Mustang buddy not have something in the back room you can borrow? It seems like you need a "good enough" transmission to get going even if you get something better later. You shouldn't have to adapt sheet metal - just maybe driveshaft and or mounts.

Vinyl roof - more period James It's already had one of those and I hated it and it was fitted to hide a bodge.
No thank you, but thanks for the suggestion.
I want the factory look for the Deluxe body. Fair play but if you wanted it to look like it left the factory you should never have asked Grumpy to take it on. This is waaaaay better than factory ever was.

I do like that mirror, ive got one similer that used to be my nans. When she passed all this sort of thing was soooooo unfashionable that no one wanted it, or any of her furniture, but I badgered my parents to at least keep the mirror, and still have it now. Mirror is desperate to find a new home. Anyone? I will say I keep a mirror, not quite that fancy but not far off in the garage for polishing flat things. Sandpaper or grit on the mirror makes a lovely flat surface

I probably shouldn't mention this but without the back it looks like a hot rodded Bond Bug.

Sorry to hear and, yes in our prayers as well.
On a slightly practical note, sell the parts keep the tools. Even If if you have to store them at a mates. All is terribly daunting right now but it won't always be - and I fear you will miss them terribly.
