i am insured with A Plan on a classic policy with the Sierra as a daily and only car, £550 but then i am only 24 so its not bad, worth givin them a call i used the Thatcham branch as a friend recommended them, they beat my renewal from Classic Line by nearly £300!! www.aplan.co.uk/thatcham

reckon most people are in agreement modding a base model into something the manufacturer never made is more fun This

My Capri "was" just a laser, i never hankered after a 2.8 injection because mild mods to a 2ltr pinto makes it just as quick, though its not really a laser anymore with all the mods
N I am really happy with the 2ltr Saph, its been fairly reliable, its not quick, but it's not painfully slow and its more reliable than a cossie

Impressive build! Wonder if there is a build thread, to Google! There isn't, I messaged the owner/builder. He took loads of pics during the build, but they are not uploaded onto the web. I've encouraged him to post them here. ahh, why i couldn't find one then, hopefully he posts the pics, would be interestin to see!

Really like that, the one thing I would do differently is the middle portion of the grill, it would look much better removed and the mesh going all the way across the front

i am not sure, i guess it would be similar to the T-d together option, but tbh i would just do individual pipes to a pot (or Ts for now til you can sort a pot), it will give a more even vacuum curve i think
though someone else may be able to advise for or against

the carbs i had had vac take offs on them, but you can put them in the inlet pipes themselves
i initially ran them just T'd into each other and connected to the brake servo and dizzy, worked perfectly fine and didnt really give any fueling issues, i eventually made a small vac pot to put all the hoses into and then 2 exits for the brake servo and dizzy, don't think i have pics, was basically a bit of 1" id pipe with 4 6mm tubes in a line along the rounded edge then one end of the pot an 8mm take off for the servo n on the other end a 6mm take off for the dizzy, worked perfectly

righty, couple of weeks after my last post the problems started again, took ISCV off, cleaned it out again and it did nothing, bought a brand new ISCV but the problem is still there, exactly as before, keeps trying to cut out, wont accelerate smoothly at all, when its at idle it will drop to nearly cutting out point and shoot up to 1500 and instantly drop back down to nearly cutting out and then back up and so on, its gotten to the point where i don't want to drive it for fear of it doing some damage, which is a pain as its my daily car and only car on the road right now!
theres no water loss, no oil loss, it doesnt smoke a lot and there is no signs of water and oil mixing, no overheating issues...i am now clueless
i miss carbs!!

does this look/sound like an ISCV problem, i have cleaned it out and sprayed it with silicone spray but the problem is still there i am pretty sure it is, just want to be sure before i stump up £60+ for a new part, unless anyone knows if this will work? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130972167457?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649i am guessing its from a 16v DOHC but would it work with the 8v version? cheers for any help
