Hi and welcome to RR John. I can't say I've ever heard of a Cavalier Silver special before? The 2 door versions are pretty rare now and were normally only very basic versions. However I can see you have front head rests, n/s door mirror, bright trim around the windows etc and Rostyle wheels with embelishers! Looks like GLS spec to me which is cool! What engine is it, 1.6 or 2.0? C'mon more detail and pics needed! Cheers, Richard.

^^^^ That's what I like about this place, there is always someone with excellent ideas like that using factory parts. Good call Andy.

Daz, that looks totally immaculate. Really liking the plans for it too, sleeper all the way. The 16v conversion may have been done before but for good reason. If it's cheap enough it's got to be the way to go, plenty of grunt whilst retaining excellent economy. Keep us posted. Cheers, Richard.

Absolutely stunning restoration. Certainly the mintest Viva HB I've ever seen, simply beautiful.

Nice solid Beetle you have there. Like you say, that wiring loom isn't worth trying to repair when you can buy a new one. What are your plans when rebuilding? Just a general tidy up or a full on restoration? Keep us posted mate.

Angyl, re the gearbox leak, is it coming from the gear selector rod at the back of the 'box? This is a common place for them to leak, a new bush and seal will sort it out and it's inexpensive. I've got a set of ignition leads in good order which I can post to you FOC if it helps? Cheers, Richard.

100E's are cool. They go well with a Pinto too, especially a warmed over one. How about A arms on the rear axle and a turreted shock conversion? Keep us posted mate, Cheers, Richard.

Hi Steve, That looks a really tidy shell in the pics which is the most important thing when buying a Polo. The 1.3 with 5 speed is a good combination for a daily too. Just a bit of advice, when you change the top mounts, get 'em from VW. They are more expensive but the ones you get from ECP/GSF or a motor factors tend not to last very long at all for some reason. The same goes for wheel bearings. As for poly bushes and suspension kits I can recommend Phil J on here. It's easiest to contact him via Club Polo. A full set of TCA poly bushes, Gladersiete nylon ARB blocks and new O.E. rear beam bushes will really improve the chassis no end. Go for the best quality suspension kit you can afford, the cheap kits tend to be low but very harsh which does nothing for the handling. Good luck and keep us posted. Cheers, Richard.

I love Ford's of this era, they are my absolute favourite cars. A Corsair is such a great looking car, yours is gonna be fantastic once it's completed. I'm glad to hear your gonna keep the exterior standard, I reckon the original blue paint colour would finish it off best too. Keep up the great work Lee.

That's a lovely condition Jaguar you have there David. The interior and engine bay look exceptional. A friend of mine had a '88 4 litre Sovereign in exactly the same colour as yours. The ride, handling and the interior comfort were as I expected - superb. It was the performance that really struck me though, for such a large luxury car it could really get a move on when required - all without drama. Keep us updated. Cheers, Richard.

thankyou for good comments, I may lower an inch tyres on back are close to inner arch already I reckon it's only the front that needs a slight drop. Gotta say that XR3 spoiler look pretty good.

Personally I detest after market bodykits so perhaps I shouldn't reply? Your Capri looks lovely though. Cosmetically I wouldn't change a thing except perhaps lowering it a touch.

Really sorry for you Tim. Glad you're ok mate. Obviously you'll be feeling really peed off at the moment, but any car you get is only gonna be what it is, they are hardly ever financially worth doing unless it's a rare exotic. It's all part of the fun doing up these run of the mill cars. Chin up and good luck Tim, Cheers, Richard.

Hi Pete, I remember this car from way back when I used to have Manta's. It was always very low with large diameter wheels and IIRC a turbo'd 2.2 CIH? I think it was one of the first cars I remember with Aquamist fitted? Very well respected in the OMOC all those years ago, you still a member? Can you give us some more details, preferably with plenty more pics? Cheers, Richard.
