just easier and safer to either do the job yourself, or go to your local independent battery/alternator shop and get them to sort you out. that's what I do

Now surplus , this 1.8 silvertop sump is the one to use fits blacktops , st170 lumps and obviously silvertops. There are a few firms who use these sumps as a rwd basis and convert them.. its a win win as you know it will seal properly being genuine ford . Also fit anglias and cortinas mk1 /2 if you literally just shave the rear rib off! So minimal work. Alsooo this sump is the one to use in mk1/2 fiestas if using a blacktop or using a silver or blacktop 2 ltr in! So quite universal! Trust me ive done it all lol Anyway its all there no damage complete with pick up pipe and windage tray! £50 posted

You're better off near the sump than the exhaust, it'll be fine there. The oil should only see 110c or so so it's not gonna be all that warm in the scheme of things. brilliant, thanks for your answer. was thinking this but its sometimes nice to double check!

so basically been busy doing car shiz. but need re assuring or re advising? on if this move is okay? to sum up its on my mk2 escort, running a st170 lump etc etc. but in my effort to smooth the bay I am running wires hidden all over the place , this current selection of wires are the +12v for the ecu, I am getting the juice from the starter motor. so I have two ways of doing it. the first is as pictured, running it on the back of the xmember between it and the sump. its thickwalled wire I have used and It as can be seen is put in its own conduit/sleeving. would this be okay situated where it is? I have thought and thought about it but just need re assuring. I have done my best to 'insulate' the wires so to speak..there is about 10-15mm clearance between it and the sump. will obviously be p clipped down once decided for certain. the other way is one I don't like but it can be done beside the block in between the block and exhaust , but I reckon it would be too hot there near or next to the exhaust manifold? feel a tad silly asking but rather ask now than have it melt on me or worse catch light?! have a photo of the unfinsiehd and now freshly scratched bay. thanks

dug these out, no longer needed . pair of Dellorto DHLA 40 G carbs. they are all complete and everything seems to be there? they will need a rebuild kit but everything moves freely. comes with some spares (in tin, looks to be some linkage type bits and screws?) and also has half a airbox with it. apparently from an alfa? pictures below £100 collected from London/kent. postage is £10 on top uk nationwide .
