As that motor is a development of the f7p, You could start with a Volvo 340 bellhousing, should bolt straight up and starter and clutch work etc. Then redrill/adapter plate the back of the bellhousing to take whatever separate-bellhousing rwd box. A type 9 would probably work. Just realised that as well but the boxes have a rep for not handling the torque while driven a little bit harder I believe? |

Hi guys having mental thoughts of converting a Renault F4R rwd , what options have I got box wise I can’t see any options so I know a lot of stuff will be custom .
Type 9? Mtx75 ? Or Mazda ? I know there will be a need for an adapter plate but does anyone have any wisdom on this topic ?

so done a thing. made it so far my ultimate car of my ever growing collection it seems..!  IMG_3081 by  IMG_3094 by  IMG_3100 by  IMG_3105 by  IMG_3400 by  IMG_3439 by "running it in..."   IMG_3460 by  IMG_3656 by and looking the same as before.. to some unsuspecting people  IMG_3652 by Gavin Bhurji, on Flickr to sum up, it took me a month and a bit to do between me and a good mate, between juggling a job change and work and also sorting my mk2 escort for paint oh and trying to have a social life squeezed in for good measure. lots of things learnt and IF I was to do another again I would know exactly what to do for a quicker speedier transfer. I didn't use the engine out of the blue one as time/life/excuses... but I did buy a m52b25 with an m50 set up from a real decent lad over near arena Essex a genuine guy with a passion! only had it properly on the road today, ironing most niggles out still a few to do but its mobile, and on the road again, so its making me grin. Fun times. |

This bugs me .
Just state what you have available and clear concise prices.
Saves a lot of guess work and the buyer being a “seller and buyer “ in one.
Just constructive criticism don’t take it the wrong way just you ain’t doing yourself many favours being quite illusive on that aspect.

these were all spotted today ! I usually am ALWAYS too slow to get my phone ready...as such I would be adding a photo of a genuine abarth fiat 500 I saw being driven with the bootlid propped open! but for now have these fresh of my work journey today tidy mk4 escort  IMG_3412 by and on the same road I spotted what looks to be a gen-u-ine Amphicar?! this is brilliant, I'm just finishing my 6 pot conversion on my touring so can totally relate and see you have built a nice little car here ! how short is the B2D shifter if you don't mind me asking? thinking of getting one for mine but don't want it mega short as its a daily still . look forward to the updates liking the plans a lot ! |

vactan is self priming so tbh, I reckon you would be fine. but I have always primed on top of vactan with no issues also. you wont be doing any harm if you do or don't I say

Hands down a clio 172/182 . Bang for buck they are great plenty of stuff you can do to make them even better for not a lot . Wouldn't trust one to get me to the end of the street, let alone a lap of the 'ring safely. (ex owner) Well i must have bought a good one then as mine is lovely ! Just make sure the dephaser and belts are done and a few simple mods you got a good car . I never was a french fan before I bought mine , and this little rocket has converted me . Yes I have had to do work to it but nothing out of the ordinary for a 20 year old french baguette . Keep it simple clean and look after it you won’t be out of pocket come selling it . Fast on the rise ££!! (Current owner with a huge grin while giving it some stick) |

This is such a great thread . Enjoyed reading everyone’s stories here .
My first “on the road” car was a early corsa b in white . Rotten as a pear once I poked around but provided a years worth of classic memories !
If I had it now ? Fully restored (Restore a corsa ?! Did I just say that ?) , fully built 2.0 redtop on twin 45s in a smoothed bay . Standard interior back in it (merit spec and not the recaros I put in), although it will never happen that was the plan way back then .
