Seeing as no-one wants it as a whole car (check the budget motoring section for a link and all the info!), I may well break the old girl. Basically, if someone wants the engine/box/loom/ecu as a 'cutout' package that they are more than welcome to come and test drive first, then I'll break it. £400 for that. Everything else will be for sale too, dependant on the above!

The 3 on the drive currently are the Chevy Blazer (V8), the Lexus (V8) and the Discovery (V8). Previously there was the W126 (V8) and a Range Rover (V8).
I'm beginning to spot a pattern here. Only the Jeep Cherokee (6 cylinder) bucks the trend in recent years...

Apologies for the crappy phone pics (actually, I'm not sorry, I just don't have a decent camera!). But you get the idea - all photos are taken with the same phone, with no flash. Here's how the lighting has been for some time: Here's how it is now - with 2 more lighting units to put up, and another one to get a tube for. And here's the workbench in-place:

I'd love it for the top of my Disco, but at the minute I'm not sure how I'd be able to get it... I'll be in Bournemouth 25th/26th Feb, how far would you be from that? Maybe a detour on the way back could be in order if you've still got it...?

Do y'reckon I could fit one in the back of my Lexus LS400 when it's flattened down Guz? If so, I'll take a bay and can pick up Wed/Thu/Fri next week?

Man it's been a while since I've updated this. But I'm stuck bored at work at the minute, so I'll give a textual update and then add some pics later.. When I've actually taken some!
Well, thanks to mrabody off this very forum, I've now got some lights! 9 twin tube fluorescent lights to be precise. Currently 7 are up (2 to go but I've got a bit of stuff in the way on the floor....) and 5 are wired in. I then ran out of wire... doh! However, I can't even begin to explain how good it is to have an operating lightswitch right by my door (even if the lightswitch is plugged in to an extension cable....!)! Previously I've had to go in with a torch, walk halfway down the garage and find the sockets that my 2 tubes were plugged into, then turn them on.
Having never used T8 58w tubes before, I was terribly disapointed when I turned them on initially, blissfully unaware that they take a little while to warm up. I went back in home, sulked a bit and then went back out. I had to squint it was that bright in there. That made me happy again ;D
Aside from that, I've put a 3.4m workbench in (acquired for free, happy days!) and am ready to put some more shelves up (again, acquired for free!).
Also thanks to mrabody, I have a few electrical double sockets that I will be using around the garage. I'll need someone to come and certify my work when it's all done, but I can't see that there will be any problems there. Hope not anyway!
Next major job is to fit a proper electrical feed from the house, using 2 runs of 6mm SWA cable (I'd rather overspec than underspec ;D ) - one for the ring main and lighting, and one for my twin 3hp motor, 270l compressor.
I'm waiting for the weather to get better before I put my ridge tiles up.... lol
I'm actually getting my act back in gear now, so I'll hopefully be updating this thread on at least a monthly basis from now on.
Not-very-exciting pics of some lights and a workbench later today or tomorrow!
EDIT: I'm thinking of wood-cladding the breezeblocked upper part now. I'm thinking that will be easier for me to do than rendering (and hopefully cheaper than getting someone in to render it for me!). Whaddya think?
2nd EDIT: Just realised there are no pics of the completed (bar glass) front doors, I'll rectify that too!

Model: Lexus LS400 Mk3 Year: 1996 Mileage: 179k Tax: End of May 2012 MOT: May 2012 Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire Price: £800 ono The time has come for me to part with my 1996 Mk3 Lexus LS400. This being the Mk3 means it has less weight and more power than the earlier versions (260bhp as opposed to 240 and about 200Kg less IIRC). I'd always fancied one of these, and when my Jeep failed it's MOT due to rust last year, it was a good excuse to get one. The main reason was that I wanted something quick, big and comfy for the family holiday to France - a job it performed faultlessly. Before the trip, I replaced the 8 plugs, HT leads (NGK) 5w30 oil and all filters as I wanted it to be spot on. I wanted to change the cambelt too, but ran out of time before I went, so I changed that when I got back (@178,417k miles!). Now, the cambelt schedule on these states 90k miles or 6 years (most people neglect to tell you that last bit when their 9 year old cambelt has only done 60k...!). If you didn't know how involved the cambelt change is, click here www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html - whilst doing that, I changed the coolant, rotor arms and dizzy caps too. I'd have no problem driving this car anywhere for any distance - as previously said, I drove from Derbyshire to Poole, then from Cherbourg to St Cast - the round trip (including driving around on holiday) was around 1000 miles and fully laden (2 adults, 3 kids, full boot and 3 bikes on the back!), travelling at sensible speeds it averaged over 26mpg. It comes with a moderately useless private plate - A15 KGT. Buy it and make up some reason as to why you have a private plate... It is on BSA 18" wheels which are a matter of taste - they've grown on me since I bought it and I actually quite like them now - the spare is a standard full size 16" Lexus wheel. All tyres are good with plenty of tread. Being 15 years old, it's not absolutely perfect, there are a couple of little dings/scrapes on the body but nothing which detracts from the overall appearance. It was cut, polished and waxed when I first got it with Meguiars stuff too. Inside is all grey leather (cleaned and conditioned when I first got it). There's so much stuff included as standard on this car it's ridiculous. My personal favourite highlights are the heated rear seats, electric seatbelt height adjusters and electric headrest height adjusters!! I'll get some more pics when it stops snowing, but here's a taster for now - the small pics are from the ebay advert I bought it from originally....! I'm only selling as I want to put my Discovery on the road, and sadly having a large mortgage, an ex-wife and various other financial commitments means I can no longer afford to run 2 cars (and 2 bikes.... and the bikes are more important!)

Does it dismantle for transportation? If so, I'll take it for £15 and pick it up as I'm passing nearby on the 26th Feb (if it's possible for you to keep it that long for me)? Can pay now by paypal or cash when I collect?
Cheers, Martin

Right, the 4-hole one has a datestamp of 03-98 (or at least that's the only one I can find on it!) and here's the pic Thinking about it, I may actually keep one of them and make a woodburner if they don't sell... ;D

They are internal tanks and with all the valves required - I'll check on datestamps for you (I'll look on the 4-hole tank tonight and check the single hole one on Friday when I'm next passing my sisters garage!!)

My plans have changed and I don't want them taking up space in my garage, so I'm selling a couple of LPG tanks that I've acquired over the years!
1st is a 4 hole cylindrical type, 90l water capacity (so 72l gas capacity at 80% fill) - 360mm x 990mm(ish). £30
2nd is a single hole cylindrical tank, same capacity as above and same size. £25
I also have a mounting frame to fit either tank inside your vehicle - £10
Can't post, so collection only from Ilkeston, Derbyshire (J25/J26 M1). RR Pony express welcome!
Will get pics later, both are in good condition. One is in my garage here, one is in my sisters garage a few miles away!

Nope, he's casting his own manifolds at the local school (!) and will be running 3 carbs that are apparently extremely hard to get hold of (a rare breed of SU IIRC). This is all from memory, it's been a while since I last saw it, I'll try and get some pics if he'll let me next time I see it!
