I'm pleased to see that my old Benz is still going strong. When are you going to fit the OEM rims? Those C-Class rims look poop. Who put them on ehh? I was hoping to get them on before The Gathering, but won't have time to get them finished off now, they're stacked up in the shed. The MOT's up at the end of August, I'll get them on before that as both front tyres on those C-Class rims are almost on the wear-bars. The only other job before the MOT that I know of is to change a sidelight bulb, provided everything's OK in the suspension department (hopefully so, certainly there are no untoward clonks or bangs) then it should be OK for another 12 months. It was originally my intention to end up with one of these but got let down and ended up with a coupe. In some respects I wish I had sought out a saloon! Its definitely a nice example you have and I love the colour. It might be up for grabs after my holidays in September. Haven't decided yet. It drives as beautifully as it looks, but I'm rather missing the Gallic chod (I was raised on a diet of Peugeots and Citroens....). ;D

That's a shame. Great little cars but were (along with most PSA stuff from the early 80's) made out of a combination of secondhand steel dredged up from the Baltic, and Alka-Seltzer. Those three-stud alloys would look the nuts on a 106.

This: Absolutely LOVING that oh-so-1975 stripework. This: Some of the outer panels were made by the firm I work for in Worcester, UK. In fact it was the company's first contract, and it celebrates its 40th Anniversary in eighteen months' time. As were the front wings on this below: In fact I probably delivered those to Bentley in Crewe! As always, thanks for sharing!! ;D

I'm hoping to make it in the W115 V8 if I cant get it shaken down and sorted out over the next week. Otherwise I will be in the 500SEC. We wont be camping. Never been to RRG, how do the 'stands' work, ie where do we go when we turn up? If you've signed up to a stand, you'll be given a stand pass. Usually the organiser of the stand, in this case BrianDamaged will make arrangements to either send you your stand pass, or give it to you when you get to the show. You then display the stand pass in your windscreen, and upon entering the show, you'll be directed to the relevant stand. If you've not signed up to a stand, park in the 'Retro Parking' area, again you'll be directed there by the RRG staff upon arrival. I've ordered twelve passes......and now joe76's wife's Porker's sadly out of commission, if he's happy to give up his stand pass (which won't affect his show entry at all) I'll happily add you to the list khimanimohiki!! Out of courtesy I'll PM him first and make sure he's happy with that. Look forward to seeing you on the 19th. Actually.......could everyone who's still intent on coming down in a Benz please confirm their intentions on here? That way I can make sure everyone who actually needs a stand pass gets one.......1. Dare to be different. Well it's certainly the first modded Pious I've seen.
The same mods would have looked awesome on Ben's old Dyane which you used to own! ;D

Great to see a smaller-engined Taunus getting some love!!
The 1294cc Pinto engine was sold across Europe from 1970-82 in the Taunus and the Capri. You could buy a two-door Mk4 Cortina over here in the UK but only powered by the 1300cc Kent OHV engine, the 1300 Pinto was only ever sold in Britain in the Sierra from 1982-84.

Out of interest does it have a CAT? Cats weren't fitted on UK-spec Fiestas until 1992.
