I use a parrot in my t4 and that is noisy whilst crusing at 70 and I can hear it and people can hear me very clearly I am talking about a speaker as a music speaker, not a phone speaker. Read that the Cambridge Audio Minx Go is a good option too, and only £99, but still not sure it will be loud enough for a car....

I know we have talked about connecting an MP3 player/phone to a stereo system on here a few times.... I'm now wondering if a better option (for me) is just using a Bluetooth speaker. The advantage is that there is no need to try and fit an amp or head unit anywhere - which is a challenge with a very minimalist interior.
The other advantage is being able to use the speaker in any other mobile situation; in the garden, camping etc.
Bose do a few(expensive) bluetooth speakers with rechargeable lithium ion batteries that are supposedly good for up to 8 hours.
Do you think these would be man enough for the job, and be audible at cruising speeds in a fairly noisy retro?

The 400GT has grown on me. I find some of their details a bit challenging; the front headlights seem a bit too close together, and the combination of a very curved rear glasshouse, with the very flat rear bodywork. But it's all relative. If I saw one in the street, I'd probably still go weak at the knees, and they look cooler and cooler with every passing year. Damn, I'm a Lambo fan after all!

Thanks for the other pictures of the Countach, lovely. After writing that I don't like Lamborghini's, I then remembered the Muira - doh! Early Lambos are fine with me!

Great set of pics. Lamborghinis aren't often my thing, but that orange ealry Countach is just sublime. Would love to see more of it.

Already started to talk to some of my old mates about doing a holiday based around Classic Le Mans next year. Either way, I'd love to be part of the RR 214 Le Mans in some form...

Are those black marks you are trying to tackle raised, or are they actually recessed in the paint? Definitely looks nothing like tar.....

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping to pick something up tomorrow and give it the once-over before heading to the Retro Show. Complicating things is the fact that it does have some fresh paint where I've done some work the other weekend, but I will just have to avoid that area with anything harsh. That Tardis looks like good stuff, although it doesn't look like I'd find it on the high street. Maybe I should just give some tar remover a bash? There is a hell of a lot of this black stuff on it though. Autoglym intensive tar remover is pretty good & prob in halfords so i'd go that route followed by a clay bar then...

I wouldn't use a scratch remover to remove tar without trying tardis 1st, it never fails on removing surface contaminats....

I own 2 cars that I do not need in any practical sense. They teach me new skills, have brought me new friends, occupy enjoyable hours of time both doing and thinking, make any journey an event and keep my mojo up. They are awesome to me and I know I am lucky to have them. If people have a happy thought when they see them, that feels good too.

Brilliant variation on a normal show write up, a nice variety there!

These definitely are relevant on here if..... They are modified. We see a lot of cars on here these days that are not retro at all, but seem to get good responses from the community. So these could fall into that category. Let's not be silly and think that mofified well = retro though. To reflect the scope of this forum we would more accurately name it retro and modified rides. They're not necessarily the same.

I have some Allycats in the right PCD. 6" and 7".... Are those the ones I saw on your car last year at RR? Wanting to sell them? Dan (black Sprint) Hey Dan, they're basically the spare set I have, matching the ones on my car but need a pro diamond cut and refurb to look the same. Will let them go for the right offer.....

EMy dad has put a private plate on both his and my mums cars. So, I can't agree they're for losers because I love my old man. Also as a waste of money, they aren't as bad as depreciation. But other than that I can't think of another mod that for me, as petrolhead, I just don't understand at all. I always wonder if the people with name plates also wear name badges themselves?

.....another quick couple of photos. On my last visit to the car, I spent some time with a marker pen, drawing out the shape for the vents I wanted on the front wings. The reason for these is first and foremost a practical one. It is at least one of the mods that I will be making to keep underbonnet temperatures in check. I know the side vents seem an odd place, but with the more air that can be encouraged out of the engine bay from either the side or the top of the car the better. I also had a hunch the vents would suit the car and having been sent these photos, I think I was right. I'm pleased with the finished shape, particularly the tapering towards the rear, which was a bit of a last minute idea. I like a lot! The idea started as a horizontal but it wasn't quite doing it for me, so after a few minutes of looking from different angles with a cup of coffee, I thought about the taper. So this is it ended up - The vents will have some aluminium mesh shaped into the recess to ensure they don't look just like a hole, I think.... Onwards and upwards....
