Well Zastava used to to made Yugo Uno, which was Fiat Uno but with Zastava badge (same as Punto mk2/Zastava 10). Same car - different badge. Those were equiped with 0.9cc OHV engine which was also fitted in Yugo 45, but as carbureted edition. So, Uno and Yugo share more than you think, actually. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

That is basically expected, so don't worry, there are gonna be plenty of real pain with that type of car. Believe me, I know.

Best looking Alfa ever. Although, all Alfas are special... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Coincidentally, I got the same amount of power from Fiat 1.3L SOHC (8 valve) engine in my daily Yugo. Twin Dellorto 40's on intake, hi-comp race specs engine, basically... Driveability is faaar more important than the BHP number itself. So - keep on rolling and enjoy!

1st trackday of 2017 went well... except the rain. Was driving in top few in my group, although I was far away from my 'dry' lap time. Oh well... next time, I hope, will do some real time attack. Car feels great, just needs some more head mods to revs a little bit happier. That supposed to be done before this season, but my 'daily' Yugo is giving me headache with new engine that we've built.
Some action video from TD:

You need to do some wheel alignment, negative chamber helps a lot when it comes to fitment. Looks pretty decent, I've seen much worse... everything from Fiat is probable fit, regarding brakes, suspension, etc. You can play with it as much as you like. Try finding some good Weber DMTR from Tipo/Tempra or any other Fiat from those period, take manifolds from it and it will YuGo much better.

You can put in anything you want basically... lot's of Fiat DOHC 2.0 16v Turbo ones have been done, even C20LET from Opel (GM). I like the sound of carbs, that oldschool taste of everything that goes with it. So, it's quite rapid with small SOHC that have 100+ HP and if you want to go around 200 HP on front axle you really need to make it work in order to transfer that power to ground. I have LSD on mine and want to keep using R13 rims, but for those powers (200ish) you would need 15's and then it wouldn't be Yugo anymore... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

So, I've been busy doing engine rebuild for my daily red Jugo - 1300cc one. Since I had issues with head that initially was bolted on because it was welded around some water channel and badly, it immediately leaked coolant into the oil. It was couple of days before my Nurburgring trip, so I just take it of and found some 1500cc head with 37.5/33.2 valves. After I got back, head was prepared for bigger intake valves (39.5) and ports were opened to 32.5mm on both - intake and exhaust side. All work on head and machining took a lot of time, so I've just recently bolted it on the engine and - it works! So still in break-in period, trying not to go too hard on it, but with short periods of revving it up high and putting some load on it. What I ended up with is: 1320cc DMB (Zastava based) engine - 87mm Mahle pistons & rings (set) protruding 0.5mm; - Crank bored to 1st oversize & used Kolbenschmidt bearings; - 1500cc head with 39.5/33.2 valves, 8mm of course; - 32.5mm ports intake & exhaust; - Static C/R 12:1; - CatCams 299 cam, 10.45mm lift, 3.65mm @tdc; - Twin 40's Dellorto on intake; - Ported exhaust manifold and custom twin downpipe with fi45 pipes (need to go to fi50); - MSD Ignition 45kV coil; - All that paired with Yugo new type gearbox with modified tolerances for less friction; - Bigger cooling radiator and faster opening thermostat; Hope it will hit something around 115hp figures. ![](http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/gedora10/14859682_1147804251980033_8887543505146980257_o_zpsfyodwayj.jpg) Grey Jugo is almost ready for winter dream. Will see if I can manage to get the head of on it in order to go up with static C/R and maybe 7mm valves. ![](http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu240/gedora10/14884542_1152032808223844_7050605585931171791_o_zpsjoc0oeia.jpg)

Cheers! Glad you like it... Lamps are from another Zastava product - a small truck. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Fits pretty well. I did thought about battery location, but I don't like idea of running cables through car, so I've just bought lightest battery I could find. Also, I'm not sure how much benefit would relocating bring, this car is not driven on the edge and surely there is a more than one thing I could do to improve overall handling, but that's not mandatory for weekend/track joy car. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
