New here so thought i better bang a build thread up.
Will start from the very begining of my long and very hard road with the mk2... This is some sort of project thread.
The start of her rise from being a mess...
thats was the plan at the begining 8v tsr 1.9 running twin 40 dellortos with a newmans fast road cam and a ported and polished head.!!!
didnt last very long as the local company that did alot of work on the 8v engine were to say the least cowboys!!!
single headlight grille was the choice for the front end with crystal headlights, H.I.D fitted, spotlights blanked out of the bumper, carbon bonnet on.
wheel choice kersher karmona 16"
de-locked and de-handled
Ice.... pioneer head unit, focal components with cross-overs, focal mids, hertz amp in the wheel well.
as for inside fully stripped out back fully panelled out, leather re-trim to interior, cobra carbon seats, 4 point race harnesses, audi tt pedals, momo champion steering wheel, omp strut brace, carbon bits and bobs, did have normal clocks then went for the digifiz dash which was a real pain in the .
then decided to put the carbon vent on the bonnet, out comes the trusty dremel......
carbon f1 wing mirrors made to fit at he same time reversed to look right.
back lights changed from the 16v to smoked crystals.
the 16v lump went in as this is when the 8v decided to go bang!!
sourced a 16v engine bored to a 1.9, running 45 webers, ported and polished head, race cam, pulley, carbon strut brace fitted.
It was now time to try and sort it as best as possible tidy the carbs up and trumpets the dizzy got ripped of in place of a omex mappable ignition.
i can only find a pic with the dizzy on in my photobucket but here it is anywhoo.
then dicided to tinker with the grille... three brand new grilles to make my full face grille, dremel out again.
cut the slats.
filler.
sanded.
primer ready to flat again.
final paint and finish with pinstripe.
then fitted it on the car also had some carbon number plates made.
the gel coat went on the bonnet so off it come and airbrushing started, this pics is mid way through the airbrushing.
i picked the final piece up.
you can see how the light pings off it.
well prob loads spelling mistakes taken me two hrs to try and get all my pics sorted still got a million others but you get an idea....
Then it looked like this for a while:
Then as it was at ultimate dubs 2010 and all types!! only two i made in the mk2.
Now the VR6 conversion starts...
This is the lump with v5 box and selector on.
These are the TT brakes that are also going on.
Going to be some twists under the bonnet!!!!
Started the strip down last night:
Carried on tonight for an hr or so engines ready for the lift out nearly:
Here is an idea of what the airbrushing will start to look like with some colour down!!
My first ever go at airbrushing and i'm well chuffed with hows its turned out.
water bottle.
expansion bottle.
strutbrace.
The clutch fluid bottle.
engines out the vr6 and got some more airbrushing done in the bay!!
Started to fab the ally ready for welding the whole thing will be powder coated matt black.
Put them into the bay just to see what the are gonna look like roughly.
This is my attempt at making the induction!! got to sort spliting the mfa and fitting it into the pipe work.
The spike air filters are for a Harley Davidson!!
bottle and battery in just need to hover the curse word up.
Pictures all over the show but you get the idea!! if you've not fallen asleep yet... haha
