Inspired by this thread, decided to start a thread for my sparetime project ;D Currently it's a scruffy, incomplete non-runner. Will hopefully be up, running, and slightly-less-scruffy in time for a BBQ at mates farm at Easter. retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=othrmod&action=display&thread=125072I'll be looking for a petrol cap + other bits soon, let me know if you have any spares

On the first start up of the bike it suffered from a bit of an oil leak coming from the kick start oh well, shouldn't have been a cheap skate... So was tidying my garage today and decided to drop the oil and get it done Casing off along witch kick gear and shaft... Looks like a bit of a flat O-ring to me Fresh O-ring donated from my pa's stockpile, what a diamond geezer ;D Out with the old in with the new as they say... Much more pronounced! Gasket sealant on, bolts in, jobs a gooden! Need to do another start-up to test it but I think it should be fine ;D Going to re-furb the wheels asap now then get the tyres on and whaaaheeey, could be rolling like a child

Hung on an old wire coat hanger and off we go.... Result! Finished in time for tea Shall examine the result tomo, ahhh satisfying. ;D

Not tested the leak as yet, pretty damn confident that I have stopped it from that area. Will be somewhere else leaking next most prob Excited about getting some decals sorted, tyres and decided to get some new brake cables. The ones I have made have failed apart from the throttle one

Well I have had a few running issues recently and i think it may be down to the inlet manifold. looks far to big for the port when i look at closely, need to take pic really. Never spec'd a new carb inlet, was half tempted to make one? anyone have any ideas or go to places on 50cc inlets?

Right has been a while since I last touched the bike, I was having fueling issues with it so decided to have a break from it and with doing up the house and my daily didn't leave me much time for this So anyway, the fueling issues. On closer inspection of carb the inlet manifold that was attached to it was ridiculously over size, must have been a bright idea of the last owner who was suitably leathered when I arrived to originally collect the bike Anyhow to solve the problem I started hunting for the correct manifold, where I had no such luck. I ended up purchasing a modern one that fits to the more modern trials. The angle of this one was to acute to fit the carb on properly gay! I had no such luck of finding an original so in the end I decided to draw one up and have it made, mates rates in work done a much nicer job than I could of, he beauty of having a lathe at home So thats all that has happened recently, shall get a pic of the finished machined inlet tonight and see how the old girl behaves with it on
