I won't be there when you cross the road, so always use the Green Cross Code.

The idea behind sorn, is coninuous registration. Yes, there's nothing to stop you wheeling your sorn'd car out for a blast up the road but the DVLA can keep continuous track of your car. They do love to have ALL the information. Plus registering as SORN stope the DVLA comuter assuming it IS still on the road an issuing you a whacking great fine.
Plus it's a nice little earner when you inevitably forget to re sorn it in time and get the £40 automatic fine through the post.

In the US ,( land of the gun enforced free ...) I read in a forum where you can get your car towed from your drive way if someone complains....( just like Soviet union...Da?) BUT,if you can demonstrate within 14 days that the car can move under it's own power ,you can keep it. One guy on this particualr forum got such a warning from his local Sherrif ..but only had 14 days in which to buy an engine and trans and fit it...LOL!!!!!!

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.
