This is one I built. Had the frame and forks sat around, Set of copy CW bars and some black simplex's came soon after, Bought the red comps second hand from volksworld show, And the crank and bottom bracket adaptor from ebay... Budget build but came out well.. Was quick too with that gearing.. Shame I sold it Its a 85 mk2 raleigh burner btw

I built that when it was still sort of cheap to do so.... If you go join raleighburner.com or somthing, Someone might have a frame and forks knocking about , Add a set of ebay mags and shopper whitewalls and its done Doesnt have to be big bucks to look cool ;D

This GT Dyno compe has been all kinds of right and wrong in the 10 or so years I've had it. I tend to get 10 ideas at once and throw them at something, I think its a little too busy. Would love to sand back to chrome and pop some white walls on it, then leave alone.

My near mint and totally original Andy Ruffell 'Team Burner' which I sold to a collector a few years back for a decent amount of money!

This was a Raleigh 'Styler' Mag Burner which I bought my GF for Christmas to 'restore' how she wanted it. Boxing day she stripped it down to a bare frame: I ebayed off all the parts she didn't want (which was most of it!) which then gave a good enough budget to buy lots of NOS parts! I picked up a set of brand new Skyways for less than the 2nd hand Raleigh mags sold for! The same went for pretty much all of the other parts!! She wanted all the new parts to be either black or chrome. Nothing else. While I was doing all this I got her to choose a colour she wanted the frame & forks. Her answer was simple: Smeg Green. She wanted it the colour of our Smeg fridge and who was I to argue? I dropped the F&F in at Argos Racing Cycles who are just down the road from me. They blasted then stove enamelled them and the finish was perfect (can't recommend them enough!) Once the frame & forks were back from Argos, we had a complete pile of bits ready for assembling: My GF got to work with a bit of help from me to get it all back together Pretty much finished but I still want to design some authentic Raleigh stickers for it, but with a slight twist The colour in the flesh is awesome (it looks a bit bleached out/bland here) and really suits the bike. My girl haz taste ;D ;D She sure loves this bike!

Buying a BMW or a Bentley & looking cool is easy, but the credit doesn't go to you.Taking an unloved car that cost £500 & making it good enough to get photos in magazines or stand out alongside cars that cost one hundred times more is a skill reserved for us loonies!
