Just cut the bloody springs!!!! ;D
If you were worried about the ride quality then you wouldn't be cutting the springs in the first place.
IMO, suspension is optional.

after reading this i have now decided to cut mine on my caddy! now I'm quite capable of taking them off and cutting but I'm a bit of a sucker for things being spot on! hows the best way of measuring them to get the exact amount of each?

The way i do it.. Is just take the spring off. Cut exactly above where the spring ends on the coil above it. So youve just lopped 1 coil off. With it on the car (standard hight) i measure the amount of drop i want. Then measure that against the compressed spring (by the car) and see how many coils i need to lop off.

I cut my springs with an angel grinder while they were still on the car and still have all 10 digits remaining.. Man up and get it done you wuss follow retrowagens advice for getting it level but be warned, if you cut exactly above where the coil ends below, it doesn't leave enough space to remove the lose coil. u may have to cut this in half again to get it over the strut.

My personal advice is to never cut a spring while it's still under tension.
