bit of an experience however at least its now over and you've moved on. Leon will be a nice car to own.
Have to admit that I really like the E30 and E46 3 series, but the E36 has never really appealed. Some nice pics you've poste though.

Some times you just get a stinker and there gets a point when you just have to put your hands up to it and move. The turbo engine in the Leon is a belter so it should be good fun and unlike most performance cars pretty decent on fuel.

Glad I didn't buy it then.... Quite. Although, to be fair, I don't think there's anything on it left to break. It's probably a brilliant car now...

By the time I sold my first E34 Touring on, it had around £3k in new parts in it. Must be the best one in the country, and for what I got for it... A good BM is a lovely thing. A bad one is a very expensive nightmare.

My E36 wasn't so much of a mojo killer as a bank account killer. Cost me more than I paid for it to get through an MOT, when I sold it (as a huge loss) it was actually a pretty sorted example. I had a 2001 Y plate Leon Cupra, and that was a bit of a mare too. Not unreliable, but developed a mystery leak into the interior, and a few electrical gremlins. It's like anything, when you get through a lot of cars, you come across 'problem cars' from time to time

I had a 2001 Y plate Leon Cupra, and that was a bit of a mare too. Not unreliable, but developed a mystery leak into the interior, and a few electrical gremlins. The two problems go hand in hand. The 'mystery' leak was most probably the doormembranes and drain holes, very common problem on Toledo's, Leon's and mk4 Golf's. I once emptied 2-3 litres of water out of one rear door after a particularly heavy rainstorm I never did bother solving it, so my carpets were always lined with two newspapers under the mats to absorb all the water Very annoying and a pain to eridicate/dry out. Of course it could be the pollen filter they like to leak from there as well I did love my Toledo V5 to bits though, sooooo comfy, quick, spacious, good looking.....but mine was so cheap it ended up being a bit of a money pit still miss it though...

I am sure I pm'd you about a swap for my Leon Cupra! I found mine pretty shocking on fuel if I am honest, never really getting much more than 30mpg Getting similar from the autobox on my 328 now so not all bad. However it has developed a bit of a knock from the nearside rear suspension already
