	interesting fact, despite the P5 being taken out of production in 1973 you will find later ones occasionally. The civil service used them and when they were dioscontinued they were concerned there were no other cars suitable for thier needs so they bought 500 or so of them and wareghoused them. Then as an older P5 was retired or wrecked they brought another out of storage and registered it and away they went. Apparently you can find P5s as late as maybe the early 1980s through this route. No idea how many have survived. Interesting curiosity. I think Marget Thatcher got a brand new one when she was elected in 1979. From what I have been told, there were quite a number that were squirrelled away back in the day - and they still exist. Some were converted in the 80s to Maggie-mobiles (bulletproof glass etc) but there are still some sat in tip top condition that have never been road registered. The evidence for this is David Steele's rally P5... bought 'brand new' a few years ago and converted to long distance rally spec. Its black - and came from the government stores apparently. Back to the car in question - I really wish I had some space to save that. Gorgeous cars and that is an unusual colour. I like!

	Nice! Ive mentioned it to a friend of mine who has put a figure forward to purchace. I do some digging into getting hold of the owner. Basically the top boss's are inspecting the factory tomorow and wont be best pleased with a P5 sat festering away. One of the lads is going to hide it between some giant concrete chambers down the yard. Watch this space.

	these are nice cars. Possibly expensive to fix but would be good to see it brought back into useable condition.

	on one of my southern jaunts I found myself in kent, with a very poorly truck engine (blocked fuel filter) - so I decided to chug through the centre of london instead of the M25 incase it conked out completely ^^ that rover (winston sewells) appeared in my mirrors, and I spent about 45 minutes driving alongside / slightly behind it, gazing at it's awesomeness he eventually peeled off on an alternative route, giving it plenty of welly as he went up the road cool as chuff cars, I'll try and get some pics of my clubmates smoothed out olive drabbed one
	Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar, nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails, not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman ''unfortanatly I'm quite old and scruffy and in need of some loving. my drive shaft needs a new boot....''

	That shabby 2 tone one on hub caps is a series 1 P5 IIRC. The window top vent thingies give that away. Pretty rare now. Even with very healthy prices paid for top class examples its still economically dicy to restore one which is very rotten. They can really suck money. They are well supported parts wise thoughtwhich is a blessing.

	The P5 was removed from our yard this morning and put outside the scrapyards gates. I went in at brew time and they're fed up of seeing it there themselves! They said as far as they're concerned I can have it, but they're going to ring the chap that owns it then get hold of me.
