What a quirky design, the lines flow everywhere and make it look odd and disproportionate from some angles but fine from others. It reminds of the way the Fiat Coupe was designed, just a freedom of flowing lines and very quirky. Very rare over here though as it was after Lancia had pulled out of the UK market ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

The Ypsilon will soon be on sale in the UK, rebadged as a Chrysler. Useless little fact for you there.

Loads of 'em over here Bruce - and they were (IIRC) always the Y10 then the Ypsilon here...... A few of the 'Thesis' knocking around too - most excellent rear lights 'n'est-ce-pas' - shame about the rest of it really If you're looking (although 2nd hand prices here are ridiculous) I'll gladly do some trawling in Belgo land for you...... shamelessly stolen from t'net ![](http://www.forum-auto.com/tuning/section19/sujet281926.htm) ![](http://www.virtualtuning.it/images/fotomontaggi/vt_8398_02.jpg) and I actually quite like this one ![](http://www.virtualtuning.it/images/projects/2009/4/virtualtuning_fabri_10298_02.jpg) John P.S. - Sorry I'm still on here - off to another meeting in a minute, won't make RR at ACE tonight. Eurostar already en route ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

Always liked these funky little cars, so ugly and full of character. Looks like a lot of potential based on the initial pictures posted by Bruce.

So how's the bloody Ford wagon project going? Well Norm, If you were keeping an eye on the Area 52 thread you would already know that this coming weekend is 'get stuck in on the Fairlane' weekend. John should be arriving from Brussels on Friday hopefully and we will be making as much progress as we can in one weekend. Why do you ask? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Ys share most mechanicals with Puntos so bits are alleged to be easily available.
I think the 1.2 8v was known as the elefantino blu and the 16v is known as the elefantino rosso - a kind of continuation of the elephant theme from the HF Lancias.

I'm lucky to catch the General Bored now and then, Bruce, much less anything else here. Time = Precious commodity these daze. Sorry, but I'll likely ask again some day in thread-irrelevant ways. ;D Good on you and the Boyz for tackling Moby The Great White Whale! That makes you Cap'n Ahab, methinks.

I like it. Is it just me that sees some Alfa 145 in it? Nope, not just you, I was thinking exactly that. I'm on the fence on this one, it's quirky enough to be kinda cool, but it's not the prettiest thing either. PS, I used to walk past one of these on the way to school, not seen another in the UK since though. It did stand out amongst the 90s bland mobiles.

Reasonably common in The Netherlands as well. In the neighborhood where I used to live there was one in this stylish color scheme: ![](http://www.lancia.carcatalog.pl/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/ypsilon.jpg)

I think that Yp mk2 isn't really working with the typical retromods. I do like them, but in a luxerious way.
Perhaps a white rally edition (Martini?) might work, not sure.
