Model: Vauxhall Astra GSi V6
Year: 1992
Mileage: 137,000
Tax: June 2011
MOT: June 2011
Location: Wirral
Price: £950
I've done a bit of work on the car and it's that time again!
I have replaced the suspension, bushes and lower arms in the last year / 5000 miles. Engine went (oil pick up pipe came off, oil starvation) so changed with a V6 engine.
Engine runs superb! New windscreen in the summer.
MOT'd till July 2011,tax is up on 31st December 2010, but consider it taxed for another 6 months if it sells. Car is now taxed 'til the end of June 2011.
Has Calibra Turbo front struts with new discs/pads and Astra Coupe Turbo rear hubs, with Calibra Turbo 16" inch wheels.
Resprayed (tidied up) rear arches, front grille, and rear bumper in the summer.
The car is 19 years old, so don't expect show car beautiful-ness (I have had people turn up and walk away because they were put off with the bent slam panel (to accomodate the radiator) and a bit of rust (on one of the sills)).
By 'odd dent or scratch', I mean, I've scratched the front bumper a couple of times, the bonnet has a few dents (I don't know how they got there), if you get up close and examine every inch of the car, you will find blemishes. You will also find repair work on the arches. There are slight contours on the repair work, so if this bothers you, do not turn up to view the car. You won't find rust, but you will if you look at the sills as there is a minuscule amount there.
It's got it's tatty moments, there's a few scratches and dents, the rear and front bumper is missing a clip, and the grille is a bit loose. There's no MOT threatening rust, only absolutely minimal surface rust. The main thing is, it looks tidy and shiny from a couple of metres away! (as seen in pictures).
If you want to use your time examining it with a magnifying glass, or 'detailing it' everyday, then spend a few grand on a like new example.
Driving the car at 70 mph down the motorway is absolutely ace.
Car has a few extras like electric sunroof, standard interior, with original radio, gear change is smooth, no crunching. Engine did 75,000 miles. I've maintained this, it's ultra reliable. I've been honest, but I've probably missed a few things out. Everything works, but if there's anything that doesn't it'll be sorted before sale.
You're welcome to come and view, I'm on the Wirral. I would swap/px for small car or anything more unusual or practical.
New pics from 30/12/10:
I can take swaps for something interesting, but would prefer sale.
If you want the car, I can drive it to you at your cost.
