I like it! Maybe swap the pinto for a mega HP volvo T5 / Cossy / Rice turbo motor and then put it all back together looking as standard as possible. Then go baiting the chav-tastic crowd That would need some BIVA action though wouldn't it to be legally on the road?

there's a kit on ebay (v8 into a focus), came from america, been trying to sell it for about1-2years, its 2k though, and that doesn't include the rear axle or v8 engine
i wonder how hard it is to mount a rear sierra axle, cause i already have a v8.....hmm

Could be great but 4k and only a pinto motor?he'd have been better off tuning the blacktop already in it.if you want to buy that then wait a month or two then there's a chap on passionford who's just had his 3dr Sierra ended with a 400+bhp zetec turbo in it!!!!

Ford USA used to offer this conversion as a semi works deal, came with I think a 5.0 or 5.7 Pushrod small block, the company that used to do the conversion was Kugels www.kugelkomponents.com/focus/focus.phpwell known in the hot rod world, I even think it came with limited ford warranty if built by Kugels

The site says it's all bolt in with no cutting or welding required.
Really surprised theres enough room for a propshaft/gearbox in a fwd bodyshell or is there a 4 x 4 version in the states that this is based upon?

Parts of the kit appear to be a trans tunnel cover and a flat boot floor panel. Whilst these parts just "bolt in" they will require the shell to be cut to accomodate them....Back to IVA

a 1998 Focus should have no bother passing IVA.
I have had the Kugel catalogue here for about 3 or 4 years as this is one of those "I really must" things. Make a great sleeper.

i agree, it would make a great sleeper, 2k for a kit is a bit salty for me, as i wouldn't mind fitting it to escort/capri/mk2 granny,
thats why i wondered how difficult it was fitting the rear axle from the sierra, as the front piece from kugels looks likt a crossmember that bolts to the existing chassis rails, easy enough to fab i reckon
kugels kit was made for the 5.0 302 engine, plenty of late model mustangs have those

There was a blue RWD Focus on e-bay about 3 weeks ago that was running a SBF 302 V8, now that did look impressive, unfortunately no piccies or I would post them up. The price tag of £15k was a bit spot on aswell, it was the mk2 Focus and professionaly converted.
Cheers,
Stu.
