hello right i bought a near mint triumph acclaim of a good friend, 44000 miles 2 owners from new, now taxed and tested, runs beautifully and goes like stink... ive just bought some J subway rings and a purple tow strap, all though these where originally bought for the 505, I'm very tempted to hardslam the acclaim and make it J look, add the straps and some plastic arches and WIDE WHEELS this is purely like the 505 there isnt many of them around never mind modified ones!! don't have any pics of mine... but ill add a pic and if some one would photoshop it for me that would be mint!! and any thoughts or ideas would help and lets discuss potentially my first rr build thread!! exactly what mine currently looks like!! retro.

Also known as a Honda Ballade. Think they're nice as they are (if it's tidy), but it's your car.

I think it looks cool as it is man. It could look sweet as if you did something really nice with it but the thing I love about retro cars is the character that they all have naturally. Generally don't like seeing them being taken too far away from standard! Your call though Would definitely be something different, and I'd love to see some photoshops of it at least!

I think they are easy, but the spax springs are around £100 a set iirc.

its going to happen i think... the problem I'm having is that the wheel arches are massive, i want to run 13's but my tyres are all to small, will need to cut 5 coils out... there will me know suspension at all!!

I like them because I did my test in one in 1986 and they remind me of the Mk1 Prelude. (Where did they all go?)

I also had similar thoughts, if you go for bolt on arches your not going to be able to open the back doors as the arch is so narrow. Then again if you go with buckets and a cage who cares !

Also i had an Acclaim recently but i only bought it as my Civic neded a new engine & they have the same engines & the Acclaim was as rusty as hell & bodily on its last legs! Tim..

I badly want that Civic!!! As for the Acclaim, did they ever do Chrome bumpers? If so, chrome bumper, 'wing' mirrors, deep steels and some flares and drop it onto the tyres.
