OK so we have had the first cars we have all owned and the best cars we have all owned and even down to the most modified, but what about the stinkers? The bags of spanners? Lets hear it for the true Friday Afternooners! My worst car was a 2002 Mondeo Zetec TDCI, which systematically fell apart as I drove it,everything from Turbo,Injectors,Exhaust collapsed, packed up or fell off, even the heater knob came off in my hand! Second worst was a '98 Escort Finesse, not a bad car really but it was what I bought when I sold my Alfa and was what you may call a CRUSHING disappointment! ;D

Worst car I ever owned was a 1995 Renault Megane, driving position was awful, build quality was curse word, extremely sluggish for a 1600, thirsty for what is was. Oh I would never have another french car again Cheers, Stu.

my second audi a2 tdi. first was fantastic. Second was p$sh. within six months i'd spent something like £2000 in repairs, including after it overheated and dumped its fluid on the motorway.

Had so many problems with it... Didn't like to start if the weather was too cold, too warm, too damp, too dry or just a bit 'meh'

Not retro but a nearly new Nissan Primera 2.0 SVE auto saloon we inherited. The last shape and saloon only made for short period. Both my wife and I disliked it and were glad when probate sorted so it could be sold. Even late father-in-law regreted buying and wished he'd kept his previous Civic.

My worst car, which wasn't a retro buy - a 1985 Rover 213S purchased in like 1990. No power, no handling, everyone took the curse word out of it, just dreadful. And it was getting pretty nasty rust too. I suspect it was scrapped not long after its "7 years" were up.
Worst buy retro car, probably a free 1967 FD Victor I went all the way to Faversham to collect, but was so curse word I couldn't even cover the cost of my trip with breaking it. Waste of time and effort. But hey, we do these things

1986 Vauxhall cavalier 1.6L, Bought when it was still a relatively new car and paid a huge amount of money for it in comparison to all the bangers i'd had before.
Saved and borrowed like hell to get it as I was so fed up of "old" cars!... It got broken into on the drive the second night I had it and it was crushingly boring in every way.
Sold it after a few months and bought a £400 mk2 escort mexico (them were the days) which was quite crusty all over but SO much fun compared to the cav.

hard to narrow it down really. I'm not much of one for comfort really, just as long as its reliable and things like the wipers and lights work
my split van was quite curse word, but arent they all. lots of random breakages of parts that never break. so was my squareback. and my falcon wagon(when i got it anyway, it was made much better). the vaccum wipers that went slower as you went faster were always fun. the xj6 was pretty poor too. as was the senator. both had major electrical issues.

Volvo 343DL.
OK so it was the cheapest car with an MOT in Loot that edition and had a knackered carb. I also discovered that the wiper mechanism had seen better days and ended up with my arm out of the window manually moving the wipers on the M25. Even if it had all worked properly, it still had one of the worst driving positions I have ever experienced. Positives? Gearbox felt nice and it was a totally disposable rwd car owned when it snowed.
On reflection, I shouldn't have been surprised it was curse word. My dad had a 360GLS brand new as a company car in 1986 and that was pretty badly built. The combination of a driver's seat belt that refused to unroll so it could be warn and a throttle that would randomly stick wide open on hot days was interesting. Especially from a manufacturer who sold cars on safety above all else.

96 citreon ZX 1.9D. hateful car, brought in a fit of sensible-ism (driving 100 miles a days so it made sense). Could only stick it for 3 months, then swapped it at a dealers for a big bumper 3dr Mk2 golf GTi 8v with 160k on the clock, but was one of my favorite cars I've owned ;D

2002 Landrover Discovery TD5 stupid thing was always going wrong and when it did it was never simple or cheap to repair. The auto box was utter wibblepoo. On the plus side it always started had a good driving position and pulled like a tank. Even managed 30mpg as well. But all these things count for nothing when it depreciated by 6k in a year and a half and cost 2k to keep it going in that time

Mine was a Subaru Impreza turbo. this one.. Biggest bag of monkey jizz i've ever owned. It ate gearboxes for fun 5 yes 5 of the feckers in 1 year. Generally fell apart blew the turbo holed a piston you name it it broke and before you say these cars are good and mine was imported.. mine was bought BRAND new by me, one of the few times i've ever done new. Never again and to top it off Subaru fitters we'll call them fitters as mechanic would imply they have skills, like to miss bits out on services and the service staff are complete nobbers aswell one marque best avoided

Ive mentioned it before, and didnt have sole ownership (about 15 of us owned it, a fiver each!) it was up at £75 and we got ripped off at that price.... It was a black(ish) ford sierra... erm... something. The oil was like tar, the dash was split and warped, body farked, black paint knackered, it ran on 3 cylinders if you were lucky and had a tendency to cut out at random, especially bad places (like 4 lane roundabouts). We used it as a prop for end of school, but it was truely shagged. Never known another car quite so bad. It was still awesome though
