With all the talk of the £65k Escort and people discussing what they would buy with the money instead has inspired me to start this thread. The Scenario: A distant relative pops their clogs and leaves you a big empty warehouse and £100k to do what you will with the huge empty space. Well, obviously you're going to do what any self respecting Retro-Rider would do and fill it with all manner of weird and wonderful vehicles of all shapes and sizes. So here's your warehouse, you've got £100k in your bank account, go mad, show us what you've got.

think i'd put up a wall and rent out half of it ;D the other half i'd get some new tools and this to go in the van 1500hp in street trim on 91 octane juice from nelson race engines its 52K though so wouldn't be much change after that and the mod to the ware house though with the rent i could get i would probably keep the victor ;D

Haha. I'd have it filled with Fifties/Sixties big cars - Hawks, Snipes, Crestas, Zodiacs, Fairlanes. Then a Hunter, some Cortina's, and a Tranny mk1. And a mk1 Carlton, Chevette estate, Rover P5b And a Bedford CF mk1 And probably a Mini, too. The list continues...
Tasteful mods all round. And then drinks for everyone with the change left from £100K. ;D

I already have all the project cars I need/want so the space would be put to good use building them up and generally playing.. I'd haggle hard and buy one of these (V600 twin supercharged Aston Martin) cheapest I've seen for sale was 110k so like I say I'd haggle hard or sell summat! Alterntivley I'd buy a Bentley Continental T for around £85k and spend the rest on a powerboat...

Replica Stratos in tarmac spec and Pirelli decals, Fiat 131 Miafori , Ford Sierra RS500, drift spec Volvo 340 with a whacking great turbo, BMW e30 of some description. Many more when I can think straight. Oh and a Chesil Speedster to keep my dad happy!

Hothach collection is a nice idea. I might add a Talbot Sunbeam TI, Alfasud TI, Innocenti DeTomaso, Novitec Fiat Cinquecento Sporting as well.
I'm wondering about a 80s car collection with race/rally homologation cars: Alfa-Romeo 75 Turbo BMW M3 E30 Ford Sierra Cosworth Lancia Delta Integrale Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16
But I also like the thought of having a car from every decade and from every great car nation.

split off a section and put that up for rent, insulate the lot of it and get a big heating system in then 2 ramps/lifts a rolling road, build a spray booth with a blast cabinate, spend a fair amount on tools then the rest on a few cars, depending on my mood, would most likely make my capri 100% mint first, buy a couple of off roaders, some form of saloon to build a v8 sleeper out of etc etc

I suspect I'd splash out three quarters of the money on two or three good cars. eg Gordon Keeble. Would have to try a Ferrari 400 for a while as it'd be about the only car from that stable I'd want in the price range. One of the "expensive" ones would be something American and custom. Then the rest would go on a whole variety of cheaper motors, probably including some oddball euros.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

I think I'd get an early bay window camper, and a nice modern TDI lump to go in it, and a decent car trailer.
I'd finish my mini to a silly high standard, cutting no corners, get a race licence and get it log-booked.
Turbo the MX-5 and sort out some decent suspension for it.
Buy a tidy black E28 as a daily driver. (Obviously plus some wheels + coilovers to go on it.)
I could be tempted by a nice tidy slammed Karman Ghia running a lairy air cooled lump too.
Probably get a cheep battered old J 4x4 for a laugh in the winter as well.
Then any change (~50-60k?) would go on setting up a workshop to make and sell metal + composite things.
