I've been eagerly watching your progress on that wing Dave. Wasn't sure how it was going to go when you chopped it into three but clearly worked well by separating the jobs at hand. (Has given me some impetus to sort out the Oxford's wings myself rather than spend too much money on replacements.)Know what you mean Seth, i wasn´t too happy about chopping them up either but it was the only way i caould see of having a fighting chance of getting it half decent. If i´d have had a choice i´d have just bought a new or secondhand one.... Well the wheels are in paint, the etch primer went on well yesterday... and i´m just in the middle of top coats now

I can't tell if it's the pictures or not, but is the white paint or reflective tape? They look very nice, should look even better on the car.

Love the work you have done so far Cheers mate, here´s a pic of the finished wheels next to the spare estate we´ll have to wait a while to fit them to Alex´s as it´s not his birthday for a few weeks but you get the idea they´ll look even better as his is white - never thought i´d say this but they look better than the 18´s!! or am i just getting old? ;D Right back to sanding the front wing on the Osi...

Great progress with the Osi too, been watching the weld-a-thon develop with much exitement ;D Cheers Chris Time for a small update methinks ;D It´s not as if i haven´t been doing anything on the Osi recently, it´s just that you´d have got 100 pictures of the same wing being sanded... it´s not quite ready for paint just yet but i want to do one panel at a time so that i don´t have to sand it for months on end once the welding is done. It´s also a big mojo booster if you can look at at least one bit that´s half decent It´s a crappy pic but i´m chuffed with the door gap... and my mate has turned up with the plate that i need to repair the bottom of the door - no ready made doorskins here unfortunately. Swapped for a crate of beer ;D Looks like i can finish off the door now

Looking good - How do you ensure when you sand lead you don't ingest or breathe any of it - mask? respirator?

Amazing work on that wing - wish I had 1/2 your patience when it came to getting body work just right!

Looking good - How do you ensure when you sand lead you don't ingest or breathe any of it - mask? respirator? Best thing is to not sand it with any sanders or other maschines - I just used a bodywork file and the mask I use when spraying. Amazing work on that wing - wish I had 1/2 your patience when it came to getting body work just right! Cheers, it´s a case of having to mate because i´m not very good at it. It took me best part of two weeks to get it looking half decent, it´s still miles away from being good but it´ll do for now.

With the wing more or less sorted i got stuck into the drivers door today. I´ve been waiting for a mate of mine who´s been organising the repairplates that i need to finish off the doorskin It´s nealy 1,25m long and as i can only get 75cm in my vice mounted bender he very kindly got me two plates cut to size and the edge bent over.. Basically all i need to do is cut it to length and fit it getting all three doorgaps right. There´s no way i can get it right with the door on the bench so i´ll do it with the door fitted and lined up. First job is to get the shape of the front bit right where it matches the front wing.. I used a ruler to get the bottom gap right... and then cut it to size The good thing is if i get it wrong i can have another go until it fits as the plate is too long Getting there... I try to butt weld all my repairsections but i want to put as little heat as possible in the door so i´ll overlap the joint this time Happy with that ;D next job is the other half
