full set of 4 TA technix coilies to fit mk2 and 3 golf- also fit b3 and b4 passats. they are all freed off and cleaned up, adjuster rings can easily be spun up and down their full length. the fronts have keeper springs but the rear don't (removed for more lows as usual) rear bushings are good, front topmounts seem ok and are included, but obviously theres something wrong with them at that price one of the front shocks is blown- otherwise, GWO. ive got a manufactureer getting back to me tomorrow about a replacement insert, so there may be the option of having them all fixed with brand new front inserts for a bit more- I don't know the price yet though. otherwise, the price is cheap enough to chop them up to convert your non-VW struts on whatever obscure vehicle you want to make low!! can post for a tenner, pics later.

will keep you informed change the two rear shock bolts. same length, smaller size. costs about 2 quid from any fasteners supplier.

forgot to chase up the part number thing so still no answer on that yet, heres a pic though- i recon theyll work nicely on an e30, especially as i seem to remember stock e30 ones are stupidly long? i was gunna use them on the e28 but ive also got some weitecs that are slightly better suited to that application so ile be using those.

The rears actually look pretty long ,though that's not compared to an E30 rear shock... I think the main problem would bolting them onto the rear trailing arms the bolt needs to be a fair amount bigger, similar style to an E28. Out of curiosity, could you tell me the diameter of the front shocks?

fronts are 50mm same as e30( or are E30 48mm? i can never remember). youd want to weld them with a sleeve on there really rather than just butt them unless youre super-confident in your welds. conveniently, they slip inside E28/32/34 55mm strut bodies though(see why i was gunna use em on the e28!!) so you could chop one of those up for the sleeves.
ive got the rear bolt/sleeve issue sorted, its easy to turn up a new bit and fit it to the bushing. mine are going to be stepped to positively locate them, but a washer would do the same job. you could probably swap one over from an e30 shock without much difficulty. its even easier if you use poly.
i can measure the rears if you want, i know the body length on the fronts is 12.5", i seem to remember E30 being at least 15" if not longer.

The outer diameter of the bigger E30/E21 struts are 51mm so they won't go down without some shaving I guess... I was hoping something like this would simply slip down a cut down strut tube! Would the shocks take welding directly to the shock tube?
What's the likely hood of replaced front shock and the subsequent price?
Cheers

i forgot all about these, will try to get that insert sorted out next week!
rob, they're the same OD so they want butt welding on then a sleeve over the join. you can weld to the bodies no probs as you can just pop the inserts out to do it.
