Nice I've always found that Value paint needs about a million more coats than proper stuff. The last room I painted with it, I'd have been better off using skimmed milk. Tell me about it. Painted the inside of my garage (breeze blocks) with paint from netto. Ended up using almost 50 litres of it! Whats the plan with the astra? I recommend putting the engine out of it in the opel ;D

Tidy, great stuff, looks like a nice workshop. Heating them is crazy, insulation is the key mate.

Nice unit! Any scope for a woodburner?

I'm not really sure on the wood burner as a chimney would be an issue, inane a gas space heater ATM which works well.

Looks like a great place and certainly in good hands ;D
Heating is always going to be an issue in old garages/industrial spaces. Wood burners are great but you do have to cut a hole for a decent flue, then there is sourcing and storing all the wood...plus, if space is limited, you can't store stuff too close.
We bought a 2nd hand diesel heater from eBay and it's great, but can be costly to run. I tend to find when I'm working on my own at the unit in sub-zero temps that I just wrap up warm (LOTS of layers) and make sure that I get cracking with jobs. You don't tend to feel the cold so much once you get stuck in. It's only stopping, standing around when the cold hits again.
Insulation is a good thing to consider in space like yours (no chance at Area 52!) because this will keep in any heat that you create.
Looking forward to seeing how this progresses...keep up the good work.

Please bear in mind I was on a tight budget and have little to no knowledge on how to do most of the jobs properly so just did them the way I thought best. Well for someone that doesn't know how to do jobs properly I'm telling you I'd love the amount of kit you have & by the looks of it so far you know a lot more than you think. What a great little place I'm SO JELOUS ;D
