Right.
Does your ORIGINAL condesor have a screw on fitting for the wires or a soldered one? As you can connect that black cutout wire to that if you like.
All the black wire does is earth the system when you press the cutout button, Preventing the coil from building any current in the HT circuit, You can have it coming off any LT wire in the circuit, I.E CONDENSOR, COIL OR POINTS.
As for the condensor, you can just cut the wire for the coil (LT) and connect it to that. and the original wire back together. then bolt the body of the new condeser down to a nice earth.
Does that make sense? I'm doing some mid-day beer drinking so I'm not sure ;D

Thinking about it I presume I'd just bolt both wires to the (condensor and black) to the points wire and extend the condesor one so I can have it sitting in the 'gully' bit with the chocolate block and ht wire. Reckon that'd do mate?

Cool I guessed as much bout an earth for the kill switch! However, the standard condenser is soldered in and new one is bolt type. So, I leave the original condensor in position. Snip the thin coil wire and extend it so I can put the condensor outside the mag. Then another wirefrom top of the condensor back to the wire coming off the points, as well as the killswitch earth wire... Does that make sense? Also- there aren't any 'mounts' on the condensor, how did you mount yours to the bike?

It has a small bracket on it with a screw hole. EDIT: my ammusing little paint drawing... haha... (think this is right... easier with the bike in front of me)

Nice diagram! ;D thanks dude, think I've done it slightly differently - did it a bit quickly but there is still no spark... I cut both wires from the original condensor the lengthened the wire from the coil, passed through the back of the stater to the new condensor, then put another wire from new condensor to points, and T'd the killswitch earth into that union.... Think that'd be ok wouldn't it?
Dunno why theres no spark still...
Just thought, does the condensor body itself HAVE to be bolted to the frame as an earth or would it start with it flapping about? As it's just hanging at the mo!

I'm pretty sure, that the body has to be earthed. In its normal placement it does that anyway. And with car ones they are bolted against the dizzy body. Metal to metal... Shame your not getting any spark tho dude Tried the obvious things like making sure the HT lead is screwed into the cap and the coil properlly? The way you wired it sounds right btw too.

Yeah I thought that, the condensor body isn't earthed at the moment - I'll try and find some sort of bracket, you got any pics of yours bolted down?
Checked the lead and plug - all good. Maybe it's the condenser body not being earthed...

Oops, squashed my new condensor crimping it to the frame to see if I got a spark.... Geeyar....

Cool no worries then I've abandoned it in the garden and left as it's pissin me off! I presume I have a dodgy condesor as it seems to cut out when warm now and then won't start till it's cool. I was sure it had a new condenser in it... I'll have to look at my receipts :/ Baaad news, The low voltage circuit in the coil has broken. When it heats up and expand the ends get apart and no spark Skip the plans on outside condenser it's much better to move the coil out in the air. never mopeds has that you can use the charge coil + ignition coil from a puch monza or a zundapp (some us spec maxis to) If I'm right the Maxis after 1990 had electronic ignition similar to the one in the link below This might be a slight overkill

i think this has an external coil anyway. They changed them at some point. Mine has an internal one...

Hmmm.. Mine is internal coil still - no idea why there's no spark at the mo... This moped has, if I'm honest, been a rollercoaster with not many fun bits!!! I'll get there soon though, just gotta stick at it!

Suppose id best get one, and another condenser. Seems odd that it was running sweet with a fat spark then just died. Could I be that it's laid dormant for years and now the stress of all the electrics being put back into use has fried them? It was starting on one kick of the wheel and pulling really strongly. Now nothing at all Had some good news on the job front so I'm not too stressed about the bike now - I'll get it sorted asap, long as I'm methodical

ahh cool Ive got an "interview" today so hopefully that goes well.... fingers crossed eh As for the coil, Yeah mine died like the flick of a switch, And that was just thru the little wire being broken internally. Somthing that outwardly looked fine.

Yeah fingers crossed for you mate! Hopefully we'll both be commuting on these bad boys soon? ;D Coil and condensor on the way (can't believe I crushed the last one!) pretty much won't be anything left to replace after that!

Might be a bit close but i gotta do it... 2nd of may www.popham-airfield.co.uk/Events.htmI go every year, But usually drive the bug or whatever else we have around at the time... Any signs of the bits? Will have to try and afford to get the CBT done with you

By the looks of your build thread you'll have it ready for that no probs! CBT today is it? Need a report! My new coil has arrived - so with that it'll have everything replaced and should work and more importantly be reliable! Not having pedals means I'll have to push the curse word if it breaks down ever :/ needs to be reliable enough to commute on

What plug are you running in this thing? B6HS? I'm gonna try some different ones, (b8hs) first, as suposedly the b6 can cause detonation on a kitted ped
