month went by and i had the chance of buying a 60/40 shock and spring kit cheap and still in the box so out came the wallet and days later they arrived in the post result.the day after they was on the van and i must say it rides great. i also got a call off one of me mates he had just bought a polo coupe that he was scrapping it had a single wiper conversion on and gt clocks,so out came the bank card again but this time the wife wasn't told lol

Ive never seen one of them before but i love it what a smart little van. any other plans like engine upgrade ?

another month or so went past and I got sick of them alloys as well he really didn't have the look I wanted and to be honest I wasn't happy,so out came the steelies again, this time I had a trip to the good old B&Q to have a look at the spray paint they had to offer. found a nice shade of cream that I knew would go with the colour of the van.and while I was messing sprayed the fuel cap so now its red and cream I'm very very pleased with the result hope you agree ;D ill take some better pics up when I get the time all most forgot I found a place on ebay that dose pool ball gear knobs not bad money either.i wanted something abit different so went for the 15 stripe next jobs are some arb blocks to move the front wheels forward and lower profile tyres something like 165 60 14 the arches on polo's aren't the biggest in the world lol

Ive never seen one of them before but I love it what a smart little van. any other plans like engine upgrade ? I know iv never seen one either it was a ebay find that I couldn't pass up as for the engine I'm thinking 1.4 abd bottom end with gt head inlet wiring etc.... but I'm not in any rush the 1 ltrs still strong starts first time and I get about 40 to gallon out of him.i only got him to get to work and back iv got a 3.2 bmw evo in the garage that I use for pleasure but I love the van that much its took a back seat for the time being my wife says iv got a problem I'm starting to think she's right every bit of spare money gets spent on the cars

Nice bmw I know where your comming from with the mpg it is nice to have at least one motor thats economical, I think the perfect replacement engine would be a 1.9tdi, but if the 1.0 is still going strong thats great after all its not all about power. S##t did i realy say that

iv heard the same words coming out of my mouth and couldnt believe it myself lol.i think it makes it easier due to the older vw seen been into looks and not all about speed.the diesel would be a good option but iv had a couple over the years mainly cavs and fiestas with the pumps and turbos turned up and they never last long i just seem to get bored very quickly.I'm just a petrol head at heart

There's not many of these about , I've only seen one other all year and that was a slammed and pinstriped one at Bristol volksfest Your's is looking very nice in it's current guise , I'd say leave the 1043cc engine as is , mines been going strong for the last 11 years or so ( touch wood ! ) and the parts are cheap and easy to get

These are very rare, to find one that wasn't bashed and trashed by a builder is even rarer! Nice having the Scirocco front seats, GT clocks and steering wheel too. I reckon it was a good move doing the suspension properly with a shock and spring kit. Might not be quite as low but still looks great. The 165/60's will suit it too, go nice on them steels. Prefer it without the splitter though (8th and 9th pic down) really looking the business there. Whilst a modern (turbo!)diesel conversion would be fantastic, I can't think of a VW engine that would fairly easily fit without lots of fabrication. The 1.9 from the 6n would go in but it's a bit of a plodder to say the least! The Polos are such a light car/van too, it'd be easy to make it nose heavy. If it were mine I'd go for the ubiquitous 3F GT conversion. 75 bhp out of the box, excellent economy and pretty quick up to around a ton for a standard 1.3. They'll go well beyond that, but it's all about acceleration with them. GT van FTW! Keep the pics coming, Cheers, Richard.

I'm in no rush for the engine at all theres no nocks or bangs, it don't use oil or water and starts first time.my moto is if its not broke don't fix it .while its running ok i do want to get a gt lump and strip it down and recon it before putting it in though but like i said no rush.its the looks that are most inportant at the moment anyway
