What are the figures of the above engine??
Is it worth doing as The japs rarely upgrade to the bigger engine?? Good reason??

Seems to be 124bhp for the 16v so you'd be looking at spaxo vts performance

SR16VE is from the pulsar VZR, the normal one has 175 bhp and a pretty nifty variable valve setup.
The other, far more rare SR16VE N1 from the VZR N1 has 197 or 198bhp, neither are 124bhp
the last of the N1 engine redline at something like 8500rpm

So the SR16VE or N1 is worth doing then?? Is it easy to fit or lots of mods needed??
As my engine is high mileage ill prob have to replace it at some point so If a much faster engine goes in with not much effort i may do that.................... However i do like the cheap tax and the fact the 1300 can be almost as fast as some bigger cars with a few mods!

Up to you to judge if worth doing really... but both versions certainly have a lot more power and you'd end up with a very very quick screaming monster of a micra. Never thought about fitting them in micras but i do know they sawp into a non SR16VE almera/pulsar or primera in a couple of hours. The GA16 1.6 from normal primeras/almeras gos into k11s, i've seen it in grasstrack/stock cars here, so there should be enough space at least. Don't know what the engines cost over there though.

Ill think Il prob just stick with the 1300 for now and for ease ill prob replace with the same to save time and money and keep it cheap! I will bear it all in mind tho! Hopefully I wont need it for a while yet!

Little UpdateIve bought a set of 14" BBS wheels nice and cheap but a little tatty! Came with good tyres though so they will do nicely to get it off the 13" Steel rims. As they need to be referbished anyway I may well have a little fun with some colour. What do you think?.................. (Photoshop) I'd love to get some wide 13" J rims or Mini rims for a cheaper alternative but the BBS will do for now. I may still use my Corolla wheels but I do need to get some wider arches for that, so it will have to wait for a bit! I also found a crack in my Exhaust manifold so i bodged it up with paste for now............... But with a little hunting on here i contacted Frank and we are in the middle of sorting out one of his modded O/E ones! After this I'm hoping to order the rest of an exhaust system to finish of the breathing. I also had an Issue with the wipers not stopping once started! I sorted this by simply replacing the wiper relay that I got from ebay Ive also just had the welding done now so come payday ill be able to MOT and Tax it and get it on the road. I did however get chance to drive it to and from my friends workshop (yes you can do this) for the first time since buying it and it seems to go rather well! Bring on the BUDGET FUN!!!! More to come!!

Looks like a nice little runaround dude! For the record... GA16 and GA14 engines found in almeras, primeras and sunnys can be swapped in relatively easily. The front, rear and left engine mounts need modifying as does the wiring loom, but it bolts up to the CG13DE gearbox and as such doesn't need modified shafts. The drivers side crossmember also needs notching. SR20, SR16 engines are a different kettle of fish. Think custom mounts, custom driveshafts, lots of engine bay/firewall modifcation. SR16s are fairly rare also. It can be done but is a lot more work. Some people do cut and shut driveshafts with the GA conversion and use the GA gearbox, seems a bit odd to me. QG15 and 18 engines are rubbish and completely not worth doing. On the plus side, any almera/sunny/pulsar front brakes will bolt straight to your hubs Makes me want to do a mildly mad micra
