rightio, another update, and I'm going to try and keeo them coming more often from now on. I'm going to set mysef 2 nights a week to work on the car and try and fit in the odd day off or saturday/sunday too.
Got quite a bt done on the engine bay today....
Various bits of filler being applied....all the holes now have bridging filler applied, and all but a couple have at least their first coat of surface filler.
Got a lot of the remaining blue paint keyed/flatted up and feathered into the bare metal. The original volvo paintwork was not to a very high standard on the lower parts of the engine bay. several major runs and some weird reactions going on near the bulkhead on the chassis rails. I have sanded/deundersealed to an appropriate seam in the transmission tunnel where eventually there will be the transition between waxoyl and the engine bay paint.
So having done all that i then put on some etch primer for some motivation, and boy did it motivate me to see some consistent colour going on!
Also ground down a few areas on my one remaining un-dented wing. I'm getting a NOS genuine volvo wing to replace the damaged one, so this one would be the odd one out if it was rusty. Some of the areas of rust seem to have quite bad pitting, so i think I'm going to try and get another matching new wing for the offside too.
Thats all for now, might do some more on tuesday night. Steve.
