It's sad that these pick-ups will be trapped in the BIVA twighlight zone forever more. A Viva Ute would be pretty darn cool!

Another misguided attempt at creating a car-based pickup results in a savable car being butchered. When will people learn? ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

Ideal for dropping on a 4x4 chassis at that price though, get in quick before everyone is doing it. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Judging by the roof panel it doesn't look as though the guy that started the project ever spent more than an afternoon with an angle grinder. Probably lost interest after cutting the roof and back pillars. A viva estate would give you a fairly easy time once you had panelled in the cab as the only other area for fabrication would be around the tailgate, being a 2 door and having no intermediate pillars to deal with.
Probably go well on a Scimitar chassis as long as you weren't planning on too many bags of cement in the back.

Oh god, I didn't read that bit! Obviously a straight-up, honest seller with nothing at all to hide. I like the idea of a 4x4 chassis though. Maybe not for this particular heap, but for cars that would otherwise not be able to legally see the road again.

TBH ...... I think the scrap guy is being reasonable. Sixty bats.... no reserve, take it away. What more do you want?? It's already taken more of his time to do the ebay ad, than it would have to start the grab, and drop it in to the crusher for his £60. At least he's offering a last minute reprieve for it which is more than most scrappy's would. If it was within reasonable distance from here I'd punt the sixty quid and wait for a cheap chassis donor vehicle to come up and flog it on here for a decent profit. Be loads of interest in that. In fact if anyone on here does live locally and has a trailer to collect it I'll punt the £60 for a half share! Can't say fairer than that! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I think he and a ruler/straight edge are like two ships in the night, too. I agree with you Amo but..... if it's going on a chassis (as it would have to, to be road legal) all that curse word doesn't really matter. You can make the rear panel for the cab out of papier mache if you wanted to. Besides... how long would it take to weld in a strip of sheet steel and grind it off? You could do it in an afternoon! All I'm saying is that for £60 you have to accept that you are gonna have to get off the couch for a few hours. Trouble with this forum is that we all love the wow factor of the pics that get posted..... but sometimes it's too easy to make idle criticism.... far more difficult to make original and interesting cars.

Hi all,I know the guy who runs this scrappy, only as I've bought a load of bits off him before.
He's a tidy enough guy tbh,but of course he's in business and probably just thought to punt it on the bay before he crushes it.I'd guess with Jonathan that this is just something that he's picked up from someones house as he goes all around south Wales picking up pretty much anything.
If anyone is genuinely interested in this,I could call up to look at it for them but I know little about vivas so if anyone can point out what they want looked at,let me know.
I can put it on my trailer if required and deliver for a reasonable price.
