I tried to post about the wisbones in your other post, not sure if it worked! E30 325 wishbones are a straight swap onto an e36, they are also used as an upgrade as they have better quality ball joints so I am led to believe.
This gets better, makes a like for like engine sway in mine seem like childs play!

Been thinking wheels, mini/superlites just aint gonna fit, so I was thinking on banding me up some 16" steels, and running it on 50's...i'm gonna pop down to the breakers tomorrow and see whats available, but idealy wanna be running 225/50/16s eventually on the rears and 215/50/16s up front.

I'd lie and say it was for reliability, but it's not, it's price, BMW is for nothing when it gets 10 years old, final count on that engine box loom ecus down pipes etc has cost me £104, floor pan has cost me £150, and the Escort it's self cost me nothing by the time I sold the spares that came with it and the 1 useable inner wing. If money wasn't an issue I would have done this swap with a totaled Lambo

How did you get on with sump clearance?

Lol, I'll let you know when I figure that out my self. when I made the engine mounts, the boss of the steel plate was sat on the subframe. so I set that as my height for the engine mounts...I then cut a recess out of the subframe, but now the sump is sat on the boss at the rear of the rack. but it's a metal plate so should be able to be profiled. I took an e30 subframe and cut the ass out of it for it's rear ARB, I then dropped the rack by it's own height, basicly the bottom mount for the rack is now the top, and welded in the e30 engine mounts extened out by 2 " I have plenty ground clearence, at least 6 inches, but at the mo my steering angle seams to be way off with a 40mm drop

Sounds simple lol.... The frame you have made looks good though, looking forward to seeing it in. don't suppose the V12 sump would fit the V8 block would it? Or is it the fact the 12 is longer the reason it fit's?

now that I don't know, as the 750i surely has a front sump too? but it might just be that the v12 has more readily available off the shelf parts to convert it to rear sump? I'm a little concerned at the mo, because if I put pressure on the N/S, by bouncing it, the wheel toes in, but if I do the same on the O/S the wheel stays static...A bit more reading on steering geometry is needed me thinks... Still, easier to understand than the ending to Fringe and the dissapointment on how Stargate Universe has ended now it's been dropped

I keep having evil thoughts of a 5.0 compact, but then the missus hit's me up side the head with talk of weddings n other sensible stuff like petrol prices lol Thats weird about the bump steer issue, must be pivoting somewhere it shouldnt completly off topic, but I'm just half way through season 1 of fringe and it's starting to get a bit confusing lol,

rack is level, but 2 inches lower, so instead of the arms dropping by around 20 degrees, they are level with the rack, but no more of an issue than if someone had lowered a standard setup by around 2 inches....at the end of the day its not to much of an issue, worst case I'll have to buy an x5 oil pump and modify it like the guy on the v8 forum...I've even got an x5 oil pump in my watching list, all i'd have to do, is refit a standard e36 subframe, and they are 2 a penny.

main issue at the mo is the wiring, but I have a guy coming round tomorrow to have a deco, and if hes happy to take it on, it should be running by monday.
