right people. that polorn has really got me salivating wildly....... up until 5 minutes ago i was leaning towards flogging my polo instead and keeping the rocco but.... something different maybe? what kind of power are you looking at with a 1300 polo, on carbs? what's the wildest it would get? worth doing, bearing in mind you can get them down to 600kg by ditching a few luxuries (rear seat, spare wheel etc). without going G40 (which might come later), what can you do to a polo engine? depends on other mods. on carbs alone maybe 90/95bhp atf. the stock head needs work after that and a cam. in theory from a 1300 you could be running 180bhp berg cup style, with a 10,500rpm redline (although this engine was quoted to me at £3k). 600kg is a little optimistic. stock is about 800kg in a mk3 (mk1 is lightest and probably more likely to achieve circa 600kg with). |

Additional Engine Polorn for you  Is that the 1400 16v Polo/Lupo engine but fitted in a Mk1 Polo and running on carbs? I like the idea of that! We have that engine in my g/f's Lupo Sport and it is rapid in a relatively heavy modern small car, it would fly in a Mk1! Also, the Polo GT pics are ace!  |

Yes, its an AFH (standard 100bhp), on twin 40s. Funnily enough, ive got one in a big crate round the back of my mates house!
