Hi guys, just signed up officially today. Known about this site for a while now, and ran down from Newcastle to Somerset in the Sunny for the RR gathering in August. Had a great day, and got to see my nephew for the first time as my sister lives in Yeovil. I also attended the recent Metro Centre meet. So here's my cars, one retro, one not so retro!! First, my 1990 Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe. Love her to bits. CA18DE engine, 128bhp, stainless exhaust, cone air filter. Love her....... At the RR gathering in August... At a recent Nissan meet next to my black 1999 P11 Primera GT And here's my GT on her own as she was before JAE last month... And as she is today with a couple of stickers/badges taken off..... I'll be in the Primera at the Ryhope Pumping Station meet this Sunday, as the Sunny is temporarily poorly!! Great site guys!!

Agreed on the rims.
I laughed at the official brochure for these, which added 'comes with aerodynamic wheel trims as standard!!' Woop Woop!! I think the UK was the only market where these didn't get alloys.
I've got some modern style 5 spoke 17" rims which will fit. Although not retro in design, they don't look too bad. Still need to sort some tyres for them though. Black Minilite stylee would be my preferred choice I think.

Ah it's you lol. I've seen you about mate. Tried to catch you at the last Metro meet. Lovely example of a P11 GT there. Do you want any bits for it? I have an unused black nappa leather and grey alcantara retrim (WRX front seats) inc black JDM dash/cards (centres retrimmed) A,B,C pillars in alcantara. etc etc. Top notch job done by Kish. Unused D2's, Unused JDM duals which I converted to twin 5000K HID's, 18" Raceline RL7's with brand new tyres and a few other things including an Ex-works CF STW downforce spiltter. Been meaning to get this stuff advertised for ages now, but you know how it is lol All from when I was gonna rebuild my P11, but I decided to call it a day after having it since 2001 lol. If not, I apologise for runing your thread lol. The Sunny looks awesome too. Will be great with a few choice upgrades. Liam.

Here's a piccy of the engine bay after a clean up These are the 17" alloys I have which fit. I realise their a 'modern-ish' design, but they don't look too bad But this is the look I want eventually (photoshopped!) All opinions welcome chaps.

Lovely pair of cars! Fancy living in the North East and being a Nissan fan ;-) theres a few more around there . . bit like living in Dagenham and being a Ford Fan :-)
I love the primera on the black rims (and I'm usually not a fan of black rims), liking the planned wheels for the Sunny ZX, I've got minilites on my Chevette and they take some beating!
Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. Thanks mate. I've had 5 sets of rims on the Primera since these two pics of how she was when I bought her in Feb 09 She ended up having these white 5 spokes on for a long while... But I've definately settled on the black multi spokes (at least until the bad weather comes along when I'll put some winter rims on) Here's a little mod I like, Green Rising Sun(roof).... Subtle on the outside... Not so subtle on the inside.... And I get some nice effects coming through on a sunny day... Sorry, I realise she's not very retro, and I'll try and concentrate my posts on the Sunny coupe from now haha

Really like the Sunny, have definately seen it around before. The Photoshop with the Minilites on looks like great, makes it look just like an AE86.

Thanks mate, the minilights effect is definately what I want long term. I do like the AE86, and there are similarities between the two shapes, however I'm definately not looking to turn it into a lookee-likey, and will try and keep her looking as she is now (wheels apart of course).
Until the funds are saved for the minilights, I'm thinking of taking the 'aerodynamic wheel trims' off, and refurbing the original steelies in black with red anodised nuts..........any opinions chaps?

What stud pattern are the wheels? 4x114? Sure you could pick up some nice alloys for not much.

I'd guess at it being 4x100 seeing as it's Sunny based. I reckon Geordie would have had his P11's wheels on for at least a look if they fit. lol

I think the UK was the only market where these didn't get alloys.. The Sunny zx hatch(my cousin has owned 4) got alloys aswell as LSD and electric sunroof Even new, every Sunny ZX coupe i saw had 1 hubcap missing - i think they only actually came with 3 hubcaps! Must admit always preferred the hatch(esp ultra rare 5dr) to the coupe

I used to own the black one F102 LGU in the pictures towards the top of this thread.
Ace cars these B12 Sunny ZX's. They don't have the LSD that the N13 Sunny hatchback ZX's had for some unexplained reason, despite them being a direct fit.
Now go and get a CA18DET from an S13 and put it in!
Cheers,
Rich

Got the red nuts I was talking about earlier....... (I do have the other 14 as well lol!). So the plan is to refurb the steelies in a lush gloss black, with a red lip and the red nuts. The saving for mini-lites starts in the New Year. The 'Nissan Sunny' stickers were missing off the tailgate, so I've sorted them, and she will be officially re-badged as a 'Sunny' again this weekend.
