Wheels - White micra steels with red hubcaps, maybe get them banded? Body - De-Bump strip, white roof, white mirrors, de-wiper rear, single wiper conversion on the front, flared/rolled arches, rising sun sunstip to go with roof and mirrors? Engine - Not got anything major planned, maybe just an induction kit and a stainless exhaust Let me know what you think

Good luck with it.
Cut springs are OK if it's cheap you are after. but thats about all that can be said for them in a small, fairly light, under damped car.

I'm looking into Lupo coilovers at the moment as they are £180 brand new, may fit with a little alteration. If your only after quick fix then chopped springs maybe the way forward, have a look on the micra forum about sleaving the rear shocker to stop the spring falling out when you jack it up.

I Didn't, I've used check straps round the axle to stpp it dropping far enough to release the springs. If you are going to sleave the shock shaft you will also need to weld a disc on further down to form the lower platform of the top mount.

They are something that will have to be made. I used a loop of seat belt webbing bolted through the boot floor. It just stops the beam dropping far enough to allow the springs to fall out. The fronts are wired into the cups to prevent the same at that end.

Have you gone through an MOT with the above setup??

I have successfully passed an MOT with all springs zip tied to the cups to stop them "popping off". But it was not that bad. Jacking up the car the springs stayed in place. You had to fully extend the suspension by pulling the wheel downwards, before the springs were able to move out of position.
