Ooops sorry if i offended........ Only going by what i've been told/seen. Never known any other cars to have doors that freeze up in winter. i will retire back to my shell any play with my marina..... no worries...................PS best way a saw someone unfreeze their doo locks was my mate after leaving the pub about 10 years ago, doors had frozen on his Mk1 Xr2 - so he pi55ed on them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it sounds like a diesel when you start it from cold, the variators gone, I worked in an Alfa dealership when they were new , and those variators went on all of them, make sure its got all its keys, losing the master key is a no-no

variator... hmmm... what does it do ? is it something to do with the air meter? (I'm just guessing here ) a tractor hey... i'll have a listen

its the thing on the camshaft which gives you the variable valve timing.

the keys you are after are; 1x Maroon 1x Red 1x Black (maybe)
if he does not have the maroon one - knock him down by a few hundred quid - as you will need a new ECU if you ever loose a key - the maroon one is used to programme new keys - but don't use the maroon one as the regular key.
