That is really nice car. What gets me angry is that sumpcrackers for sale threads are copied and pasted by new owners when they want to sell.
Btw. Where in Poland you going to live? Good luck in getting new project, still plenty over there in right money.

The new owner had it all of a week before advertising it for sale! I love the look of that car.

wow not been on in a while so missed loads.
Shame to hear you finally gave in the towel but I can see your reasons. I'm still hunting the right car for my project, most are auto's which I don't want. Seen a couple of cars but they are either early dashs, auto's or just rough as a badger.
Good luck with poland, and interested to see what project you end up with next

I think the new owner has found a desirable E30 come up which he missed buying before. Sometimes you really want a car and it is often too easy to pass the opportunity up. I have been there on a couple of occasions and missed out on some great cars out there.

They are either early dashs.. I was of the exact same attitude, then I got one and wanted to swap to an oval dash, after about a week I just love the square dash and have no intention of changing it. Keep looking at them, they might grow on you.

I can imagine changing one would be a nightmare in itself! They both have their quirks I think.
The square to me looks quite dated which is fine but I prefer the modern look and feel to the oval. Didn't realise they're becoming that hard to find though.

I love the rev gauge in the earlier dash, reminds me of mk3 escorts/series 1 rs turbo but I prefer the smoother more up to date style of the dash.
Seen a couple of good candidates for around the $1k mark which compared to when I was in the uk I picked up a car off here for 300ish quid with mods. Its surprising just how quickly the prices are going up, that same car would be 2 or 3 times the amount now.
Darrylh - I saw the new wheels on your car on instagram, they look good and suit it.

Been a tough year and missed this being sold. I know what a wrench it can be to sell a car you've put so much time, effort and cash into.

Have you got it back?? How bad is it?
Watching the auction seemed like a good price, glad I didn’t bid on it against you now!

Ran like dog curse word after the curse word who owned her before put the throttle body back wrong way around and barn door was catching as it was warped.
Other choice modifications are a home made breather system - seems to work but my Lindsey Racing kit only works on LHD (curse word!)
She's had paint, tracked down some AZEV original centres and wheel shop diamond cut the rims back to their original glory.

This thread is honestly one of my favourites on here, along with DarylH and is the main reason I have a 944 now. I look back at this thread quite often and love this car.
Glad to see it back on here, I used to check the MOT status of the car from time to time and it has had more frequent mots than my own car!
Please keep this updated. I would love to see how it all goes.

A wild day up at Bedford Aerodrome in November with a bunch of fellow nutters. A little too wild perhaps to take out 380bhp on slightly old ContiSports in the wet. Not to worry some new Goodyear Eagle F1s were in the post.
At the high-speed sweeping 4 mile circuit it doesn't take much to find yourself sideways or worse all be it there is a comforting amount of grass run off. Needless to say, I tested that out twice in the first five laps. I blamed the tyres but I suspect it was a heavier than advisable right foot and some thumping 80s style turbo lag from the upgraded K27 kit.
Lesson learned I took it a little easier rather than chasing down a combination of other exotic equipment including a 992 Turbo S and a lovely GT4.
At prolonged revs and boost the car is burning a lot of oil (black/blue smoke) got me black flagged which needs investigating. I suspect it's oil being forced passed the piston rings from the crank case at higher pressure. After having it on a rolling road the guy couldn't pick up anything obvious so will probably pick-up the phone to Augment Automative for a few pointers.
Happy New Year fellow modified 944 fans!
