...what modified Retro Rides would you love to have?
A quick list for me:
* An Opel Kadett 'C' Coupe with a stonking 2.0 16v Astra GTE lump in it, dropped to the floor on ATS Cups
* 'Swallowtail' Mk1 Golf, 20 valve turbo lump, dropped to the floor on ATS Cups
* Early Alfasud, lots of chrome, twin cam lump. dropped to the floor on ATS Cups
Hmmmmm a bit of a theme developing here!
* Renault 16 with a Clio 182 motor... Not sure it'd suit ATS Cups
* Opel Diplomat 5-litre V8 monster
There are too many...

Here's a few from my dream garage:
Triumph Herald 13/60 estate, full (but discreet!) tube chassis, BMW running gear (6 cylinder, M5 ideally!) standard body with all chrome in place. Brown with cream rallye steels (17inch with super low profiles) with caps and trim rings.
Porsche powered VW Caravelle, 'bagged on AMG 5-holes. Super luxury interior with all the gizmos!
Hillman Hunter Estate, Grey with red vinyl interior slammed over 4 spoke revolutions (red centres) and 175/50/13 tyres all round. Ideally a hot 4-pot under the bonnet (Holbay 1725 with Alpha management)
63/4 Chevy Impala wagon, black with black leather and big billet rims...but no so big that the sills woudn't sit on the floor when I'm hittin' switches.
Skoda S110R, looking just like my old yellow one but with a mid-mounted V8 and a matching burble.
Datsun 510 2 door, running a full-house ear-splitting turbo'd rotary. Stripped out interior, BBS rims filling the arches euro style. Not sure about the colour but maybe a tasteful midnight blue...or a retro Datsun racing Red/White/Blue.

Oooh some interesting ideas on here,.. I'd go for modified : Alfa Sud, Euro looked, with 4WD from Alfa 33P4 and an Alfa 33 1.7 Cloverleaf engine thats been tinkered with a bit. Rover SDI, Hard as nails fully blown V8 beast. This Fiat 850 Coupe, but with nicer wheels and lower : cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2460552725And Darren is gradually generating a Vauxhall fetish for me. Unmodified : Fiat Strada Arbarth,.. simply cos I'd like one. BMW 3.0 CSL just the most beautiful car.

I would love a Vogue with a Zetec and a 5 speed with leather interior.
A Mk2 Escort 2 door made into a convertible with Zetec and 5 speed with Sierra IRS and rear discs.
A Mini with the shell gutted and a full tube chassis with a 13B rotary mounted north-south and a 5 speed with a narrowed diff and lowered a bit with 15" wheels, 10" wide at the rear, and made into a 2 seater with gullwing doors.
A Peugeot 504 with 406 3 litre V6, BA 10/5 gearbox, 505 GTi LSD, leather interior, sunroof, electric seats, hidden CD stacker, power steering, vented front discs off a 604, and gold plated badges.
And heaps more. I am always dreaming along these lines.

6R4 de-spoilered and de-arched, painted hearing aid beige with 1.0 City E badges ....... Mind you the Red twin R1 engined Min doing the rounds a while ago was quite nice - no arches and no spoilers, just needed black windows so you couldn`t see the motors and a nice side exit exhaust .....

ooooh... gotta be sommat crazy powerful with modern reliability but looking like a sleeper. hmmm... Rover P6... Mad engine... hmmm... Dodge Viper/Ford Mustang..? 100bhp shot of Nitrous... Basically a nice standard looking big car that can easily hide a brute lump of a block. and besides... i love the squishy interior of the P6! yeah, that should do it. Oh, and for a toy... Caterham 7 Super Light with a Cossie Turbo Pinto lump. I knew a guy with one when i worked at halfords. Absolutely Ludicrous!

6R4 de-spoilered and de-arched, painted hearing aid beige with 1.0 City E badges ....... I had a Fiat Uno Turbo which had all the 'TURBO' signwriting removed and I replaced the rear badge with 'UNO 45' 903 cc badge It had a modded dump valve and was horrible faded Fiat Rosso Red. It would go off the rev counter in 5th. Fell apart with rust in the end, ah but the memories!
