I don't quite understand what you were saying here.. Explain, please? The bigger the hole to fill, the larger the contact area to the other panel that is going to be welded = stronger. polo6n1600i Ive sent you a PM, hope something good can come of it, thanks for the info. Cheers everyone Ah, I get that. Thanks for the explanation. But surely, most spot welds don't have a contact area larger than 4 or 5 mm in diameter? That's why 8mm seems a bit like overkill, I've used 8mm holes before and it feels a bit clumsy so I switched to 5mm holes... here's hoping I didn't sentence my car to death

Thought you may like this. Purchased new away back in the 60's by my Grandfather. Was sold in 1983, then re purchased by my late Father again in the late 90's. sadly sold on and think she now lives on the Isle of Whight. If any one see's her, knows her or even has pics it would be great. Love your restoration, epic work there for sure.

I also use larger size holes as the tip of my welder is larger so it makes it easier for me to see what I'm doing aswell. Lostsoul : That camper looks ace, you wouldnt have any interior shots would you? June part 2 Ive been busy this weekend. I really wanted to get this stage over so i was determined to get it all done. With the body finished i started to prepare the shell for the primer. Quite a bit to get it ready. I went to my work and borrowed the D/A sander and smoothed down a lot of the inside. I used a combination of sander/wire-brush/wire-wheel and polyabrasive discs. I then went over all the bare metal with the acid to eat any leftover pitted rust and then loads of water followed my degreaser. Then the bit i have been waiting ages to do, the primer! I even bought myself a mid-range spray gun for it. Need to stop borrowing the works stuff so often. I used up the remaining litre and a half i had left. And one with your handsome host Now i am happy. Now that the primer has been applied on the whole body i feel that this chapter has ended for me. Phew, what a relief. I look forward to starting on the suspension.

Sorry I don't, but trust me I am working on it.
My Uncle was going to look at his Mums house, but is currently in hospital with Leukemia and another source that thinks owns the van is struggling to contact him. Every pic I find of a Dormobile is external.
In 2001 it still had only 37,000 miles on her and was great fun.
I'm still picture hunting though.

I must admit I always cringe when people use the term "EPIC" but when a project goes from this to this With such a almost obsessive attention to detail if this project maintains momentum then it could almost hint on being an EPIC project.......... Thank you for all the motivation and education in this build........
