Yeah no problem. I'm just playing about and throwing these things out there. Some of them I look back on and wonder what I was thinking too. This was my Lagonda coupe version...think i imight have gone overboard with the wheels here....

Like the coupe version, wheels look good to me.
Looks a little like a Ferrari 400i

People always dunk on the 914 and I can see why. You wouldn't necessarily call it pretty. I felt like there must be a way to improve it and as usual, with the fewest number of changes. I suppose some of the design was because of crash safety, or headlight heigh regs or something, but it didn't take much to really change it up. This is my version of what I think the factory car should have looked like btw.

Just bought some quite silly wheels, so a quick Photoshop was obligatory, even if I should have started with better quality; perhaps later... Also not sure if I've oversized them in picture. So I might have to get technical with it. 17x7" MiTo wheels to replace 14x5.5". Possibly painted slightly darker; they've been kerbed anyway. Admittedly an inch bigger than I normally would have considered but 4x98 limits choices & more interesting than the Fiat 500/595 alternatives I'd seen. (& they turned up irresistibly cheap.) Width & 6mm greater offset will necessitate spacers to get them off rear struts, 215/45 => 195/45 to correct overall diameter. Now has me tempted to buy red leather steering wheel for almost as much money to match the Vermillion red velvet seats that need retrimming. Should be reassembling it & welding frt guards, it's been buried in shed too many years!

Alright, slightly better version, also flattened off the front wheel-arch to better match the rear. Nof something I'd ever noticed in real life, making me wonder if Lancia 'fixed' that over the years or brochure shots were taken of a pre-production car? My '79 Accord also suffered such overly radiused fit arches compared to '77-8 models after Honda added plastic inner liners after complaints of early fenders rusting prematurely! Had to add some Integrale boxed arches to see... Though don't think they'd be needed and would require some weird shapes to achieve since the sides tapered upward generously compared to the vertical flanks of the much boxier Delta.

Playing about with the Rover P4 again. Rover made some very strange choices with these cars. Headlights are way high up as are the wheel arches. The bonnet is a bit unresolved at the front too. It all adds up to looking a bit wrong in my eyes. I used S Type Jag headlights, lowered a little v the originals along with a bunch of other little details. All very subtle, but I think it came out nicely. Compare and contrast...

Going back to the Aston Martin Lagonda (the wedge one), I remember there was a 2 door version that was used as mule to test a twin turbo V8. Looking for an image of that I found this. edit - found one, known as DP2034 and used as a Virage development car. It didn't have twin turbos though. There's even a 1:43 model of it. and how it was restored and sold for £250K

Smart Roadster was my first thought too. Not sure why you're holding up my photoshop next to that thing. It's the polar opposite of what I was trying to do. To me it looks like they've accentuated everything wrong with the design.

Did a tidy up on the front of the P4 too. Not sure what they were thinking, placing the headlights so high up as possible on the car. Also the wheelarch gaps are massive originally. I used S type Jag headlight rings to lower the lights a little.

I like that P4 but think it needs something under the headlights, maybe have the spot lights from the original outside of the over-riders.

I did try that. It looked too busy I thought. Like you're just adding stuff to fill a space, if you see what I mean. Spot lights wouldn't really fit which would only really leave the option of some horn grilles and they wouldn't easily be made to match the radiator grille.

Wolseley 6/80 turned coupe. You'd need to stretch the tail out to balance it out with that mile long nose.

Since I can't afford a '34 Ford three window, how about a Traction Avant coupe? I know they made a few, but they're horribly rare and very expensive and dare I say it, they aren't all that in terms of looks either.

Sooo much more fun to be had from it than that given french coachbuilders in the late '30's!
