Following the valid points raised. Perhaps blackpool isn't the best place. Perhaps southport would be better, plenty of parking, MC donalds for food and toilets. Plenty of fish and chip shops as well. Also the bridge would make a good photo oppertunity.   How would a sunday night suit people? Hell, you're welcome to come to mine in Wigan first, and then go up together if you wish. |

B'pool T'C is a hateful place to drive around, Not to mention park. Unless you like speed cameras, parking tickets, rogue pedestrians, rude drivers and horse curse word - that is.
Having said that, I am up for more events in the north west and if enduring the horrors of the great black sea is what it takes i'd probably be up for it. Dependant on time/dates.... and whether i've been forced to work there that week.

I'd be up for that too. I'd echo other people's comments with regard to Blackpool though. The illuminations are very pretty on telly, but when you've been sitting in them for an hour or more watching boozed up stag/hen do's puking in the gutter, and your clutch leg is starting to cramp up, it's no fun whatsoever.
Sorry to sound negative, but I did it with a local VW club, the 'convoy' got broken up at the first set of lights, and most people ended up getting fed up and going home.
I would definitely be up for a 'meet' where people arrange to park up in a certain place and have a chat and a beer however

there is a huge car park by the start of the illuminations, where the tram originates, could always all meet in the carpark and ride the tram through the lights

Count me in too as ive not met many people into our 'hobby' since ive moved up here.
I saw the coolest Nova in southport on bank holiday monday. White Hatch on banded steels. Anyones on here?
Anywhere is good with me, could also maybe tack ourselves onto the unphased meet sometime but could do with some notice so i can get sunday night off work
