Great location - Avon Street down behind Temple Meads? You got it! After driving past it quite a few times I had been wondering how viable it would be to drive in there for some shots. There are bollards everywhere and some of the places I'd like to get to aren't accessible, but this but is open up until the bolloards in the background. I just figured that if there aren't any bollards to stop me then it was obviously meant to be....even thought it's technically a pedestrian area leading to Millenium Bridge and Temple Meads (how much do I want to get a shot of my car ON Millenium Bridge ;D ) Just after positioning the car and getting the camera out and before I could even fire off a shot, a security guard appeared and I was immediately thinking...."OK, it was worth a try" He came over and despite my concerns, he just wanted to know all about the car! I asked him if was OK to photograph the car in this location and he said it was fine, he'd been watching me arrive on the CCTV and as soon as he saw I wasn't up to mischief he was happy to leave me to my own devices "Although, if there is a fire you might want to move sharpish because this is the access lane for the fire brigade and they probably won't stop & wait for you to move" He pointed to the bollards further up, called through on his radio (to the main security desk) and the bollards just diasppeared into the floor! AWESOME! I asked him if he could let me through there to get some shots by the bridge; "more than my job's worth I'm afraid" was his response. Oh well, it was worth asking. I'll certainly ask again sometime...... ;D ;D |

i have run out of pages to read. it has taken me hours!!!
i bought an mx5 on a budget last christmas. you have done many thing that i plan to get ideas from.
how is your headlight conversion coming along?
how is the matt paint to live with? i cant decide what to do with my 5. its is currently standard white, with lots of blemishes/imperfection. i don't want to go metallic, as i want to keep it retro. but i feel matt may need a lot of looking after, due to the lack of laquer.

Thanks for the comments guys. Not really done much with the car for the last few weeks due to other things....but today I took it down to the unit because I felt the ride height was a little on the lofty side. Onto the ramp, up in the air, and with the help of Dave (Butterz...thanks mate  ), some more lows. We wound the coilovers down some more and this is how it sits...but will no doubt settle some more (hopefully)  Having just done all that, I've already decided to head back to the unit early Sunday morning and get it even lower. Oh yes....moar lows here we come! (not a lot, but just enough) Oh, and while we were there at the unit, this kinda happened:  Apologies for the shonky phone pics....I promise I'll make up for it with some good shots on Sunday night after I've lowered it again and let it settle properly. |

I'll certainly ask again sometime...... ;D ;D Not sure I should put money on it Bruce, but I suspect if you approached the letting agents, or owners of the propperty in the right way, you could gain access through the bollards to the bridge. You car has delivered so well in all arenas from where I am sat. Well done so far. |

It is amazing what has been achieved with little money, actually the mods aren't that massive. But whole car is outstanding and expercienced adventures with it, makes it legendary (almost human ) |
