Well if you weren’t there you had four sides, each of equal length and each adjacent to the next at an angle of 90 degrees. Where else can you see Richard Fairbrass meet Peter Sutcliffe? With nice weather and this being the penultimate event of the season for the Griffin Inn at Pappelwick it seems a lot of folks decided to make it out and make it a good show.
The field alongside the pub was pretty much full and the quality and diversity of machinery on display there matched up with the quantity for sure. On one had Lotus 7 clones with bike engines, on the other classic Rolls Royces, parked up with modified or restored muscle cars and thoroughbred British sports cars, modified retros and, well, just look at the photos...
this stealthy z-car contains
blown v8 & nitrous
this is just ACE
Cosmo is mad
love 'em
sports cars of all natures
give me the 'Stang any day though.
back from the dead after a rear-ender. Looking good.
If you couldn’t find a car you like there then you just aren’t into cars at all.
As well as DTHP and MGBGT forum folks I spotted or chatted to included RichardGTE with his lad in tow, Lizard King and Mick the Cabby. I also saw the Derby drift crew were in attendance with one of their E30s at least.
Car of the show for me was the gorgeous C3 Vette which was brought along by a mate of Mick The Cabby and hopefully had drool-proof wax on the paint as a couple of our contingent were definitely taken by it, as was I. There is a short video of the car leaving included, and I will whack up a full set of photos of this beauty in a post of its own as its one which deserves the show case.
You have one more shot at this fine event, the next one is in two weeks and then the Landlord is packing it in for the winter. Arrive early, people start to go home about 7:30-8:00 from this one.
