I was in St Just, Cornwall this weekend and spotted this at the beach. I thought it made a nice change to the usual surfers ubiquitous VWs (not that I have anything against them!). A local saw me snapping away - apparently it's his mates car. All of the mechanical restoration was carried out buy the owner, he thinks it was painted by a pro elsewhere. Overall, it looked awesome!

Porsche 924 - gone Citroen Saxo VTR - not very retro but I loved it - now gone... MK4 Golf GTi 1.8T - gone but hardly remembered... Mini Cooper S R53 - gone BMW 125d Coupe - gone (mostly sideways)
Ford Focus RS Mk1 - hello low MPGs and "wanna race me" at every set of lights... 1973 BMW 2002 - Twin 40's, 284 Cam, Revolutions, E21 Recaros + more Porsche Cayman 987 3.4S - here and due to cost me more money than I have

Simply perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. Any idea what motor its running? Judging by the vents and pipes I would hazard a guess at some kind of V8?

I hung about nearby (having an immense breakfast for those who care :-D) hoping the owner would turn up so I could ask him just that but sadly I got dragged off by the group I was with. I'm guessing it's a V8 though.

I'm off down there myself on Saturday for a fortnight, I hope we get a few days like that. It's a Connie, not a Zephyr or Zodiac, so it might just still have a four-banger hidden under there. Whatever's powering it, it's quite possibly the nicest motor I've seen this year.

Nice Connie convertible, are those export rear lights I spy? And five-stud wheels make me think 'Mustang II front end'. Looks like an old Steve Kirk 'Custom Profile' come to life!
